Question Why is Michael upset about the Wombles?
According to the news sites Michael Eavis is angry that the Avalon stage has booked The Wombles to appear. He said: "I've got about 25 stages and managers and bookers for each of the stages. I can't control every single one of them but I do get cross about that kind of thing."

Any idea why that should have upset him enough to mention it ?

I can think of better performers to take up space on the Avalon stage, perhaps that's what he's thinking too.

Surely the Wombles and their eco-living, recycling ways would be right up Micheal's street.

If it's because they're not "a real band" then why has he allowed tribute bands on the Acoustic Stage for the last 3 years?

Maybe it's because Rastamouse is also booked and he doesn't want any vermin based warfare to break out backstage.

Wombles in particular are notorious for it. Right slippery little bastards they are!

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Katie Meluah, I mean she's a Mike Batt puppet too, but Micheal let her on the main stage!

I'm going to see Michael doing a talk in London next week. Perhaps I should ask him!

I reckon they'll be a huge hit, and they have the same ethos on recycling and eco friendliness as Glasto, so why not?

To be honest, didn't he have a similar reaction the first time Rolf Harris was invited?

(Not that I'm suggesting that the Wombles wil be opening the Pyramid Stage in 2014 or anything)

Mike Batt: "We hope Mr Eavis will pop along to the Avalon stage on Sunday to check out the reaction for himself. We might even give him a glass of Madame Cholet's special dandelion cordial."

Glastonbury 'special' do you s'pose?

Maybe that's why Michael's unhappy... What with Primal Scream on the Other Stage, the last thing he needs is Madame Cholet handing out her special dandelion cordial...
