Also on the list as a real off-the-wall treat is the lovely Tony Benn - I know he's a big old name but he's also a wise old gent!

Hi Glastomum, loving the use of the forum to tell your son to take the dog out
Gotta agree with the poster who recommended Patrick Wolf. My fiancee loves him & we've seen him a few times at festivals. Hope he's as flamboyant as ever (think wee skinny boy that's been left alone with his mums clothes!)
As for the other end of the scale, dunno if you're into heavier music but we saw Pulled Apart By Horses in the BBC introducing last year & they were excellent. Def be seeing them again.
Have a good one!!

Lancashire Hotpots it is, then..... my list is growing longer by the hour - I also got some stuff from today's Guardian, performers rating their "must see's" - so Gonjasuti and Little Dragon are on....so many bands, so little time!!! And that's before any blissful aimless wandering with Glasto-dad!

I discovered Mik Artistik last year, he's really funny, witty observational tunes about turning into dad and the little leaf who was stuck to the windscreen
Apart from that it has to be QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE!!!!
/QOTSA obsessive fangirl

Mandypants, you are a star! I heard Mr Artistik twice a couple of years ago and nearly died laughing , but couldn't remember his name - so thanks very very much!!!!! He's (nearly) at the top of my must-see list

Now that we have completed our last shifts, we can start exploring in earnest!
If names were the only reason to pick a band then John Bingly Bongly would have to go to the top of the list! But listening to some tracks on http://binglybongly.net/# has confirmed it! Lou, pack your dancing pants, we'll be there! On after QotSA... what a way to end the weekend!
(Was listening to Master Musicians of Joujouka on Spotify and then hit the Bingly Bongly site which autoplayed leading to an interesting mix which neither of us noticed at first! Bit like Glastonbury then...!)
Now then, let's take a look at Spliff Richard...

A band called 2 man ting - an african drummer and a guitarist who was putting down loops then playing over them. At one point there were just 3 of us watching them - and they were brilliant. This is what I love most about Glasto

Fri West Holts. Total surprise. Ziriguidum. 56 of them on stage, all ages and latin american/samba/reagee all sorts of sounds it was amazing! It helped we had quite a few bands for the brothers bar. (thank you forum members who donated your wristbands for badges )

Hi all - so now the washing's all done, the tents are back in the attic and I've had a bit of time to think, my best off the wall, unexpected treat was the Correspondents, my warm fuzzy bit was Elbow and the best chuckle was Mik Artistik. Wish I'd seen Omar Souleyman and Ziriguidem.... next time..
