Who's my off-the-wall must-see?
Hi all - this time next week!!!!! I'm after some advice on The One to see who's off my normal radar of big old names, please - in the past I've enjoyed the Scissor Sisters, Unthanks, Florence & Slomo - and I do like a wobbly dubstep bassline....any ideas gratefully received and seriously considered - thanks, Glasto-mum xx

Hi Minxycat - I think Mr Bibb is on my Clashfinder General, and as I've never, ever been to a DJ session (so clearly over 35!!) I'll try DJ Yoda! Appreciate all these ideas as it's easy to get stuck in a rut and think it's a groove......

I'm intrigued! Is Mr B a poet, a mis-spent youth or just a bloke with a guitar? And as you're a Glasto Virgin, who's on your hit list?

He's fellow with a banjolele who raps in the Queens English - chap-hop, I believe it's called.
I've been going to Glasto since the '90s, just don't post much on here - but I'm particularly looking forward to DELS and Ghostpoet on Sunday afternoon and catching one or more of Guillemots' three sets.

I'll be there if I can! Hawkwind headlined my first Glastonbury (hence my avatar) so it would seem rude not to! Have to get from John Cooper Clarke (who was also there in 81) to Nik Turner and then hotfoot over to see Queens of the Stone Age (who weren't!) More of a rush than I like, but think it has to be done!

This list is taking shape, thanks to all! Synthetic Gardeners of Cybalon - if we chose bands for their names, this one would surely win..... though I have a soft spot for Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs, who are a fine bunch of musicians too!

The Synthetic Garden is one of the installations in Shangri-la - a club/video/gardening/robot thing. Run by a friend of ours which is why it's high on our list! Take a look, say hi!

Well - those cyber-gardens just remind me there's more to Glastonbury than bands! And you may find that lots of us mums have a broad and tolerant approach to music, with all sorts of odd tastes (in music!) picked up along the way.....!

I love dubstep! Takes me back many a year when the local town hall had reggae nights and the air was so thick you could hardly see the band!!
I play it very loud when my son's not around to laugh at my dancing! can't beat a bit of getting yer swagga back!!

So - I've taken the dog out! The Wombles - still weighing this up......they may be so far off the wall that they've come back round the other side! I'll add the Kills to my ever-growing list - and we must be able to locate Mr B between us, surely?

Thanks for all these off-the-wall recommendations (some more off than others, maybe but hey, that was the idea)- I'll get down with my highlighter and Clashfinder and plan my school timetable - and then when we're THERE IN REAL LIFE NEXT WEEK (getting a bit excited now!) it'll all go awry and it'll be great Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer has to be my Must-See.....
