Default Where is the Rabbit Hole?
Haven't really spent any time in The Park, is the Rabbit Hole as hidden as they make out?

I remember seeing a sign for it at the far side of the Park stage last year, I actually thought it was a no access area. Obviously I was wrong.

The venue itself isn't hard to find. As mmmcider says it's right at the top of the park. Kinda looks like a collection of brown tipis all stuck together with carrots outside. But there is a secret hole inside which is only open at night and to my eternal shame I've never once entered it... YET.

This reminds me of a dodgy Soho Club Many Years ago where people would pay at the door and as they walked down the stairs they were charged ' Membership ' by a huge Bouncer so they had to pay twice - the door would open and they stepped though only to discover they were back out on the street - this was copied by a few Clubs in Amsterdam that the locals would keep a wide berth from.

Putting a Glastonbury spin on it - crawl though a tunnel and then discover you are outside the wall.

I have never been in it either but may check it out as I want to find out who is running the bar.

"Putting a Glastonbury spin on it - crawl though a tunnel and then discover you are outside the wall."

Evil, but hillarious!

I've got into a few of the 'special' venues before: Snake Pit, Lost Vagueness Casino, NYC Downlow but I've yet to go down the Rabbit Hole. Will certainly give it a go this year.

Well it used to happen in reverse ' in the old days. '

Punters used to hunt out tunnels - there would be one or two guarding ' their tunnel ' { although highly likely they just found it }

I don't have a clue how much the entry charge was but lets say £ 10 each - they paid the guards crawl though the tunnel but at the other end there would be two more jokers claiming it was their tunnel.

Clearly they were at it but I expect most people paid up - I would have gone bananas { Its my Glaswegian upbringing that just cant stand being made a fool of }

I do know know from Security that fights would break out - not between the punters but other tunnel gangs who tried to take over.

thank God that rarely happens any longer.

I'm going to make an attempt to find this as Nick Warren is playing the Thursday. There seems to be a riddle that you have to answer a riddle by Lewis Carrol apparently

I'm not awfully worried about the riddle - it's getting stuck in the tunnel that would be embarrassing! (wrong riddle, I know, but I definitely go upon three legs in the evening these days)

(If it's the Raven/Writing Desk one, I don't think anyone knows if there was a genuine "right" answer, but one of the popular answers is Poe wrote on both....)

being asked to crawl between the Queen of Hearts legs was quite inviting

next to the tipi village. If you look closely, the map shows "no camping". The Rabbit hole is right at the top of the park, behind the ribbon tower, bordering the Tipi village. This photo was taken outside the Rabbit Hole last year.

We were camped just above the "e" in park homE ground last year, really nice spot is was too apart from the banging of the long drop toilets in the nite.

I think we will be aiming for there this year too, and looking at the map not far from the Rabbit Hole so will have to give it a go one night when a bit mashed.
