When do the cancellation tickets go back on sale?
Hi all,
I realise that Glasto is sold out but they said that some tickets will go on sale in early 2010 due to cancellations, does anyone know when this will be?
Regards
Andy

The deadline for those who paid the deposit in Oct to pay the balance is 28th Feb, so the resale will be sometime after this date. They don't usually announce when it happens, the only signal is when the ticket status changes on the SeeTickets Glasto page.
The deadline for cancelling tickets is 7th May, so there may be some tickets available after this date too.

when I contacted them in the autumn, they said early April, but I am keeping an eye out from now on. Tickets already booked have to be paid for by 28 Feb, so I guess they will have to sort out all those before they can see how many they can resell.

You've got to take anything SeeTickets say with a pinch of salt. They said just after ticket day on 4th October that there would be no more tickets until this year, yet they had two resales in October!

Glasto further tickets
Actually it was the Glasto organisers and not See Tickets - so I think my reply was from the horse's mouth.... but I will just keep an eye on things. It is not for me but for my daughter, who just didn't get organised in time. Hope to go next year myself again.

In reply to people wondering when the tickets go sale:I already have my tickets for the festival, however i thought i would give you all a heads up. Tickets go on sale on the 14th April at 0900. Be quick though, they are likely to sell out within the hour!

An easier way to check the SeeTickets site is to use this Firefox add-on.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3362
Just give it a URL and set the scan frequency, it'll then alert you when the page changes.

Maybe this is wishful thinking but the fact that seetix/Glasto festivals have extended the deadline for payment of full ticket balances by 48 hours means that there's lots of people out there who've not paid off their balances. And, given they've not done so by now, could mean they're not going to bother but, as the recession bites, have decided to forgo ten quid a ticket and a trip to the best festival on the planet to save their reddies which they'll need to avoid house repossession, the bailiffs, rickets etc. Obviously, I'm sorry for them if this is the case, but this could mean more tickets available for the rest of us <muted hooray @ really wanting a ticket but not wanting to profit for the misfortune of others>.

Three different people have told me today that SeeTickets told them on the phone that the resale date will be Sunday 11th April.
Don't take that as gospel though, See have a history of saying one thing then doing another.

Damn, why's it alsway a sunday morning when they go on sale? i have to work sunday's and I'm reduced to sneaking off to the toilet with my mobile phone like some sort of creepy pervert to try, inevitably unsuccessfully, to get a ticket. I know this may be a bit off-thread, but whilst i'm there in the cubicle tapping away on my mobile, does anyone know if i'd have a better chance of success trying to get through on the phone line to seetickets or using the internet thingy on my phone (it's a 'samsung genio something' if that has any bearing upon the internet phone connection)?
thanks

I always try by internet and phone simultaneously, but have never had any luck by phone. The net seems to be the easier to get through on.

Does anybody have any idea whatsoever how many tickets are likely to be on sale? I know that when seetix/Glasto Festivals Ltd say "sold out" in October that this is a bit of a fib as the same thing happens every year and they randomly release thousands more in unannounced dribs and drabs over the following months on the seetickets glasto page (as well as the more 'official' re-sales and cancellations). Only, this time round I'm hoping that as they had to extend the payment deadline by 48 hours (to cover people who get paid monthly on the first of the month who hadn't paid by the 28th feb i guess) that there's going to be more up for grabs than usual? Anybody heard anything on any grapevines?

I think there's going to be plenty of tickets available but I'm not impressed with there being an allocation of tickets that include mandatory coach travel with seetickets leaving from a, small, number of prescribed destinations. I always go by nat' express coach becuase it's the cheapest and most convenient and would hope to do so again if i drop lucky in the resale. But, if it comes down to it, like a couple of friends of mine were forced to do in 2007, and the 'regular' tickets are sold then i'll buy one that includes coach travel and make my way from wherever the best available destination is (in 2007, friends of mine went from their home in Preston up to Newcastle to get the 'seetickets coach' as, at the time of their booking, the only tickets available were combined ticket and coach from Newcastle - hardly the most environmentally friendly of options). Unfortunately, this measure from Seetickets/Glasto Festival Ltd isn't about minimising carbon footprints and encouraging coach travel but, alas, about seetickets maximising their profits by tagging-on another means to get cash out of the Glasto' punters. As i said, i go by coach anyway - but with a decent carrier like Nat' express and not something run by the jokers at seetickets (if anyone reading this had the misfortune to be trying to get home by a seetickets coach in 2007 in the torrential rain then they'll know exactly what I'm talking about here). Seetickets PLEASE stick to selling festival tickets and not trying to do something you're no good at. I wouldn't mind but, because of the mandatory festival/coach ticket allocation, then people are going to be forced to use seetickets coaches which (i) assumes they'd not use an equally environmentally friendly mode of transport anyway and (ii) may even result in an increased carbon footprint as desperate Glasto-goers will buy a ticket that includes seetickets coach travel from ANYWHERE just to get a festival ticket and may have to travel hundreds of miles extra to do so. Utter madness.

tried to get on here to let you guys know at the time but i believe the site was down, there was a resale on sunday at 9am, i managed to get one ticket for a friend before i got the"completely sold out" message. as i understand it there is a date in may that is the last point at which tickets can be cancelled so there may be a few more available after that. i got the ticket on the pc and have never got through on the phone.

Thanks for trying to inform us
http://www.glastowatch.co.uk/2010/gl...ate-announced/
The server took a bit of a hit Sunday morning due to the resale. I'm going to upgrade the memory on the server and cache the main site to prevent it from happening again.
