Me and my friends left Glasgow around 10pm on the Tuesday last year and drove to the car park without any problem. Got there about 5am a little sleepy but very excited. Then had to que for what seemed a lifetime to get in, but we got in eventually set up camp and forgot all about it. Cannot wait for it, soooo exciting. Reading posts on this forum just makes me more and more excited. I love Glastonbury, it is my second home1

Looks like I'll be travelling there solo this year. I'll be taking the train from Taunton to Castle Cary on Wednesday morning, though I'm not certain which train time to go for - Either leaving at 7.05 or 9.20 (both 20 minute journeys)... any suggestions? Anyone know what time the buses from Castle Cary station to the festival start running?

Arriving Bristol just before 6 on the Tuesday. "Traditional" (ie have done it twice so far) plan is coach to Wells, where there is a really nice pub near the coach station for food and cider, then (cheating a bit) taxi to camp site near North Wootton, and then walk in in the morning....

Traveling down from Blackpool on the tuesday, mid day, down to taunton for early evening, have a nice pub tea, have a few to many beers, head out early wednesday for some breakfast and hop on the train to castlecary (sorry if not spelt right).

on the note about the coaches, i wudn't worry either time should be ok, last year we got the 9 20, there were people already waiting for coaches and lots of coaches had already left so i'm guessing they start quite early, i found tho even at 9 20, we didn't have to q for very long at all maybe 20mins, for a coach to take us down to the site, but once at the site there was NO q what so ever, 2min walk, train was packed tho.

Were thinking of leavin London @ 10pm on the Tuesday to get down to Glasto for that night and park up. Want to park in the West Car Parks and have taken down notes from the replies which said to travel through Glastonbury to get to the West Car Parks! Thanks all for that!!

If we got parked up around midnight whats the best thing to do? Hang in the car parks or got to gate A to que/sit down crack open the cider? I know we wont get much sleep but we arent too bothered and will be way too excited to sleep anyway!!

What time do they open the gates and is it easy enough to find gate A from the west car parks? Oh and will their be stewards outside the car parks if we get a tad lost in the dark on our way into them? Dont want to end up in the East car park again as we have parked there the last two years.

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the answers guys and girls xx

your better off heading for PGD as PGA will be swamped by those arriing on the shuttle/coach.

there will be sinage and stewards all around the place.

the gate open somewhere between 8am and 10am. this is not precise as there are numerious reaons why a gate might be late opening.
