Default U2 for Friday night!
So says The Sun

Quote:
MICHAEL EAVIS promised something special for Glastonbury's 40th birthday next year - and boy has he delivered.

U2 will headline on Friday night - the first time the Irish rockers have ever played the festival.

This is now officially confirmed.

Quote:
Michael Eavis said, "The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true. At last, the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world! Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline..."

This is proving quite controversial on Twitter, some fools are even talking about cancelling their tickets over it!

You'd think the U2 haters would be happy about there being less crowds elsewhere on Friday, wouldn't you?

well if they cancel there tickets over this then some of the Glastofari's who didn't get tickets can now have a better chance.

They can winge a much as they like as far a I'm concerned, but i think their narrow-mindedness hasn't spotted that there will be another good band on the other stage in a vain attempt to keep crowd numbers down.

Ach they're just flouncing. We're better off without them!

U2 are Massive and isnt Saturday meant to have the biggest performer so they'll be an even bigger band then + i take it this means muse wont be playing as i cant see them having both of them in the same year

There seem to be quite a few people willing to take him up on his offer.

If you're hoping for a greatest hits set from U2, it doesn't look very promising.
Their new album is due for release in June.
