Tuesday nights
So my plan this year is to get my parents to dive me and a few lads down on the tuesday night setting of from manchester at about 5pm to get in the car park nice and early by hopefully 9ish. Did anyone do this sorta thing last year and if so what was it like getting in at that time, whats it like in there, how bad was getting in in the morning and was it worth it?

I got droped off from the parents last year on the tuesday at around miday and it proved to be way too early, id say 9ish would be ideal. They let us go through towards the carparks at the same time as when the cars got let through (around 6-7 i think) and then we just headed down to the gate.
I'd say it is definately worth it, then again it is the only way i have done it and havnt experienced the ques, but i imagine waiting around for 4+ would be pretty boring! Last year we were the first ones to start a que and one of the first into the festival

You can get into the car parks on Tuesday night without a car? Wish I'd known that earlier - I could have saved the cost of a night's camping - not to mention a walk and a queue in the morning!

We saw lots of people walking to the car parks last year. We got in the gate queue at 5am after zero sleep in the car and there were a few hundred people already there that had obviously been there all night, mostly sleeping on the floor.
Just before the gates opened the queue went for miles, so glad we did what we did. In and pitched by 9.30am, ready for breakfast.

Yeah, us too, albeit by mistake. We were trying very unsuccessfully to sleep in the car when we heard someone shouting that the gates were open early. We jumped up, bleary eyed, grabbed our stuff and were half way there before we realised that it was a joke and no way were they opening the gates at 5am. Anyway, we decided to carry on and just wait in the queue as we weren't going to get any sleep anyway.

Do many people arrive at the station and walk to the site on Tuesday night? If not, is there anywhere to pitch up by Castlecary? Will the Traffic be ok for someone to pick us up at the station and drive us to the car park on that night?

Thing is, its much cheaper to get there on Tuesday night and we will probably get to the gates earlier compared to going on Wednesday morning. If the traffic is ok, our friend who is driving can pick us up from Castlecary or we can loiter around the station until the morning. How long does it take for the bus to get from Castlecary to the site?

about 10min depending on traffic. but the bus does go the long way.
im not aying dont do the walk, its just a bit of a yomp with all your stuff. Have a look at glatoearth.com it suggests a cycle route that is also good to walk.
If you get the last train to cc, you should get to the gate hortly after dawn. If you are fit trong, healthy and can read a map, i say go for it.

Walk sounds good but I don't think my friend would be up for it and walking 6-8 miles with all my stuff is going to make me one sweaty beast.

I think I'm definitely going to get our gang to join the queue at the gate as early as possible this year; last year we did what we had been told and waited in the car - as apparently people would be turned away from the gates - obviously that didn't happen and we were queuing for absolutely hours to get in!
Think I'm gonna get everyone to head down and start queuing as soon as we arrive, which will probably be about 2/3am - bring your camping chairs and your booze and lets have a queue party!

I suppose if you get to the gate in the early hours you could bed down and get a better kip than in your car. I'm sure nobody will sleep in if they at the front. mmmmm maybe worth a think or 2
