    Hi!

Been away from here for a long time, sorry...

    Hope everyone is OK!

I just landed a job driving a recycling collection tractor (I was down to do my third year of litter picking, but this came up, I applied and presto!).

    Has anyone done this before?

If so, I'd like to chat about it.

    Cheers!

No I haven't but I've spoken to tractor and other plant drivers and they say the festival is very strict about booze. In fact I think it is zero tolerance. So be careful.

Thanks, yeah, I got that - not really a problem and will be very careful - my cider hours are basically 1pm till 7pm, limited to four tinnies!
I'll give it a go this year and if its too restrictive on me fun and shenanigans, I will go back to picking!!

Do you need any qualifications to drive a tractor?

Well, experience is key, I think. I happen to have taken my tractor test in 1986 though!

They do daily checks for alcohol since 2014 due to HSE, never done it myself although it is more attractive than the recycling centre.

Foxy, they put a shout out for new drivers to apply, on the recycling crew Facebook page. I applied. Shazam! Needed lots of experience and ability not to get pissed of a Glastonbury evening!

That would have been me then! I didn't risk it. Some did and got through somehow.
