Hello all
Hello all
I've been lurking here a while and thought i'd finally register to say how very very VERY EXCITED i am!!!
I was looking at the pictures from yesterday of the spider being built and had to do a little stamp of my feet with excitement!
7 sleeps and counting!!!
Is it wrong to be thinking of the fizz im planning on drinking in the queue?

Thanks! Fortunately Mr Nelly and friends arrive Tuesday PM so I don't have to worry about too much luggage or finding somewhere to pitch my tent. I will miss the Tuesday night in the car park though, it was great last year.

I've always driven to Glasto as early as possible, but didn't take advantage of the new Tuesday opening of the car parks last year. I intend to this year.
Can anyone that did offer any insight into what goes on? Is there just a load of people sat in their cars waiting in the darkness?!
I appreciate there are no campfires or pitching of tents allowed etc (and the reasons for this), but was there any kind of 'community' feel to it at all - such as people chatting, doors open with car stereo's on etc?
Or were the fun police out in force?

I havent done the car parks thing the night before either YCFC.
What worries me the most is what time to start queuing as last year we had to wait for hours on foot to get into the sight!! Is it going to be a long wait if we get to gate A or D for 6am? I know we would have to wait out the first 2 hours but if it opens at 8am as planned could we be through by 9.30am at the latest?

The car park had a great vibe last year, the fun police were around but didn't stop people getting out of their cars and drinking/picnicing etc, the bloke in the car next to us erected a hammock and they didn't stop him.
It was a great atmosphere, everyone was very much in party mood and there was a bit of a mad rush to the gates at 5am when someone started a rumour that they were open (they weren't) but we started to queue anyway (they didn't stop us) and we just sat and chatted and watched the sun come up and before we knew it the gates were open, as we were quite near the front we got in fairly quickly and were pitched in Pennards by 9.30am.

Sounds a good crack does that.. This time next week, we'll hopefully be pitched and sitting having a beer!! setting off at 7am, heading in on the orange route to hopefully get where we were last year.. its pot luck on the day though.

I will be propping up the Mandela bar once the tent is up, weather permitting I could be lounging outside it as well!
