Its the sunrise on the morning of the Solstice that attracts the crowds (so Tuesday morning), obviously Stonehenge will still be there in the evening if you want to visit but its ridiculously busy for all the wrong reasons in my opinion, so you would need to be there Monday night.
But there is also this place if you want to stop overnight somewhere Tuesday http://www.stonehengecampsite.co.uk/...ummer-solstice or you could just turn up at the festival car park and get excited with everyone else
