sniffer dogs
hi, sorry if this question has already been asked but for the last few years i've gone from paddington on the train. i don't remember positively if there were last year or the year before but i've heard a lot about sniffer dogs in the station on the way to the platform. i'm heading down on the wednesday this year, will this be a problem, and if so, are there any ways to avoid them?

found this if its any help
http://www.partyvibe.com/forums/drug...ffer-dogs.html
Ive only been by train a couple of times and then i went on the sunday before so i was treated like a normal passanger.
But i have heard that on the wedneday and thurday thay corral people with backpacks etc who are obiouly going to glastonbury, and then let the number the train can take onto the platform each time a train arrives. This is the tricky time while you wait.
If you have kelo's then they are going to detect it, but with bit of persie do as above.

Smuggling at Glastonbury: what you need to know
DOGS:
Equipment: Gaffer Tape, String.
Method: Cover dog in gaffer tape and tell security it is a dog made from gaffer tape. Remove gaffer tape with care. Use string later to take it for walks around the festival and look like a pikie.
CATS:
Equipment: Large lump of hash.
Method: Grate hash into cat’s food so it gets so stoned it cannot move. Enter site wearing the cat as a scarf.
Warning: Take care to avoided rampant vegans with sticks who think the cat is dead.
UKRAINIANS:
Equipment: 1 suitcase or rucksack
Method: Squeeze 10 of them in using a shoe horn. Once inside they must remain silent. Unzip them once inside and get them to work doing all the carrying.
GLASS:
Equipment: 1 Plastic Bottle for each Glass Bottle. Old pram wheels, paint.
Method: 1) Decant all the contents of the glass bottles into the plastic bottles ones. 2) Put all the glass into a bottle bank. 3) Attach the pram wheels to the bottle bank and paint 'This is not a' in front of the words 'bottle bank'. 4) Wheel it into site and when questioned tell them it is an extra bit for The Rinke-Dink. 5) When camped, sort the bottles out of the bottle bank and decant the contents of the plastic ones.
KITES:
Equipment: One huge battery powered fan.
Method: On entering the site distract security telling them how you are going to use the fan to keep all the hippies wind generators going. Thus distracting them from the ball of string in your pocket and the kite up your jumper. When inside erect your tent around the fan and use it to fly the kite out of sight of security.
OTHER LIVESTOCK:
Sheep: Attach sheep to a stick using bluetac or chewing gum. Hold it aloft when entering like some idiots do with the blow up type.
Cows: Take two cows; point one out to security saying: “Look a cow has escaped!” Sneak the other in during the commotion.
Ostrich: Make a model of yourself from the waste up paying special attention to the face and attach to the back of the ostrich. Put some old boots on the ostrich’s feet and enter the site. Of course you will have to hide up the ostriches arse.
Weasels: Hide them in your underpants.
NON ‘FAIRTRADE’ COFFIE.
Tell security you are using it to hide your drugs from sniffer dogs.

You say you have been twice before. Have you ever read the crime figures? You will find that there is far far less crime than if 180,000 people came together in a town centre at the weekend, if they are trying to fill their quota's for the year then Glastonbury isn't the place it will happen.

We didn't have a problem last year.. and we got the train. We didn't pass any dogs though, so I don't know what the norm is.
There's places they're not allowed to search.. so um, be creative. My friend got mcat in to paris but putting it in a condom and.. well.. yeah..

Near Hastings - Bournemouth on the Tuesday. Then from Bournemouth first thing Wednesday morning. We avoided London at all costs. Far too hectic!

I had a friend called Bud - and if you are training to be a Custom Inspector I bet his description is up on every training board .
Forget all the claimed solutions all you need to do is hire Bud.
Many years ago { late 80's } he flew from Bangkok to London - the drug dogs must have been going crazy - when the plane landed they searched everyone on the plane who arrived after him - caused a really big stir .
The thinking is that he was so obvious he had to be a diversion hence why everyone who walked in after him were turned over .
Strangely he was not stopped himself but they must have followed him and three weeks later they raided his house. { he was living in a squat so there is no way they could have traced his address from his passport }
Clearly they never worked out that anything brought back from Thailand would have gone up in smoke weeks before although they did find a few traces of this that and the other but it was not the massive haul they were expecting.
All you need is a Bud but History may repeat itself.
A little quote from John Lennon - I found Out
I've seen through junkies, I been through it all
I've seen religion from Jesus to Paul
Don't let them fool you with dope and cocaine
No one can harm you, feel yer own pain
in this context it means - no matter what fancy methods some people can think up -
if you get caught with illegal items then its You that may miss the festival because if you are underage trust me they will not interview you without your parents and they will be in no hurry to do so.
If I was your age there is no bloody way I would risk it.

Is it worth the risk at any age? A bit of persie maybe but as the guide says...everything you will need is available on site. Let some1 else take the risk.
Can I ask if you needed an adult to buy ticket or do they allow under 16's on site without an adult. Just asking because my son is a similar age.

I mean did you buy a childs ticket or an adult ticket?
The kids tickets are for ages 13-15. If you bought a kids ticket did it get bought at the same time as an adults ticket? Or on its own?

You're likely to get ripped off and might buy some dodgy stuff on site which is why I'd prefer to take my own, but hate the risk!

It's a hard choice to make, we like our smoke but other than a bit of personal we don't tend to take a great deal in with us. But for the last few years we have had our kids with us so who knows what sort of stash we will build up before we go without them this year lol.

For many years I’ve had a philosophy about available drugs on site, I’ve posted it on other sites, and for those who haven’t read it before I’m going to repeat it here.
I will stress that this is not the case.
Many people who go to Glastonbury will want to take recreational pharmaceuticals and many of those will not normally smoke or trip on a day to day basis. This means that they have to seek out organised crime in their local area. This is bad for normally law abiding citizens.
If on the other hand it was common knowledge that registered and licenced dealers could be found amongst the tents, selling wares in branded bags to those over 18 who answer the tout; there would be no need for anyone to fund organised crime in their local area.
I would consider that the following substances should be available: 2 Different types of hash (not diesel), 3 or 4 type of weed, Mushrooms, LSD, MDMA.
So where would these dealers get there supplies from? Every year the police bust loads of people as do customs, all that that is seized is normally burned at great expense. This is a waste of everything. Instead the police issue the dealers with quality supplies from what they have seized and all the profits go to the Police Benevolent Fund. The police issue their dealers with laminated id so customers know they are legit.
Benefits:
1. Normally law abiding people would not have their career ruined because they got busted on the way there with a bit of persie.
2. The police have control of the drugs on site.
3. You don’t get ripped off by some crusty pikie up on the railway line.
4. You don’t take a pill thinking its MDMA when it turned out to be ket and smack.

Just to throw a bit of confusion into the mix....
There was a paper published earlier in the year that suggested that sniffer dogs didn't so much detect material directly as pick up their handler's subconscious feelings:
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0131153526.htm
(this fits with people having accidentally brought stuff back from foreign parts but completely failing to do it intentionallY)

On top of that a sniffer dog can only work for about 12 minutes out of every hour effectively.
Chances of you actually getting sniffed by a working sniffer dog are very very slim. Quite often police use the 'normal' dogs with a handler as a visual detterent. Also anyone shitting it and sweating when they see an Alsation will probably get a search. I know this because I've worked at loads of dance events. I've seen one security team use one of the bouncers pets before.
I've had beans, boy and k on me and walked past dogs, once I even spilt k on my leg filling up a bullet on the way into a club and the dog didnt even flinch. Just make sure you hide ANYTHING in your pants as close to your bum hole as you are comfortable with, act cool, and if a dog does ID say some older boys were smoking something near you on the way down, they will pat you down, check your bags and move you on.
If you want to be really para double bag it in airtight bags and wipe the outside of each sealed bag thoroughly with vodka each time.

I went through Paddington at around 8am on the Wednesday last year, and there were a reasonable amount of police around, but they just seemed to be standing around - sent there as extra crowd control perhaps, and with a calm and cool crowd, had nothing to do. They just hovered around the perimeter of where all the Glasto goers were assembling. Saw no dogs, searches, whatever, no interaction at all. Not at that time anyway.
