Heard on the radio earlier that Headliners will be announced as soon as tickets sell out-so we should hear on Midday Sunday.

They and much of the rest of the media are misquoting Michael Eavis.
He said the headliners will be announced after the tickets have been sold (as opposed to before). This could mean not until next year sometime, though I suspect we'll hear something in the next couple of months.

Too many ways of leaking things these days I suppose. Not least from the artists themselves

there were always leaks and rumours, but Glastonbury festival never confirmed these until June at the earliest. I know it will never go back to the way it was, but at least it meant those people booking tickets were there for the festival, not just specific acts. Rant over - see you in June

yeah but I'd really like to know a couple of names I've said several hundred times Glastonbury is soo much more than the music ( and that is true) but I wish Mr Eavis would throw a couple of tasty morsels.

I think they try and keep Michael out of it as much as they can nowadays. He has a way with words that often just confuses things and start false rumours. I remember him once mentioning something about Pink Floyd, whilst not trying to give anything away. Before he could finish his sentance the press were reporting the reformation of the band. As it turned out, it was, of course, Roger Waters.
Ah- god bless Michael Eavis, too nice for his own good sometimes.

Hi All! Really happy to have got 2 tickets on Sunday but gutted that almost all of my mates that really want to come had no luck after 4 hours trying fingers crossed for the resale...
Oh and this was on U2's website last week so I'd take this as a given.. I know people love em/hate em but I think they'll be a great headliner at G
"Tickets for Glastonbury 2011 go on sale this weekend. Will U2 fans finally see 'Glastonbury' at Glasto?
Glastonbury's Michael Eavis has said he'd like U2 to play in 2011 after they missed their slot at Worthy Farm this past June.
Looking at the tour dates - there is a gap in the band's schedule ahead of the East Lansing show on June 26th which would make the Friday night a possibility.
The most Paul McGuinness would say was, 'We're certainly excited about our plans for next year. Watch this space!'

Stonefield have just confirmed directly to me on Twitter that they'll be playing next year.
After reading that they'd been invited by a Glasto booking agent to play next year, I asked them if we can expect to see them next year and they replied

I hear that the Glastonbury festival are interested in me playing. I'd be happy to do that and it will be the first time in a long time that I will have a record out that people will have a chance of hearing.

Good to see the return of Bourbon Street, already looking forward to seeing Marcus Bonfanti.
That was one of the best small stages last year. Charley Macaulay, Dave Arcari, Aynsley Lister were excellent, diappointed I missed people like Oli Brown.
Matt Andersen is on this stage too.. and just checked him out on youtube, looks bloody good, hope they have a strong stage though, he's a big chap...
