There is lots of links in this section but the key factor is ' when does a person start looking ? '
It may only be April but I know for a fact being a WBC Organiser that all the Team bids ' for the whole year ' were made in March and the actual allocation took place on the 1 st of April so that is the WBC out the window because even if I wanted to all the allocation are fixed so I cant change anything. The WBC does run a internal waiting list but you have to be already registered in advance so that is also closed for this year as the deadline has already past.
the two other bar vacancies I know about started recruiting in March and they may or may not have a waiting list { as even that has a time limit }
http://england.shelter.org.uk/what_y...at_glastonbury
http://www.ejfoundation.org/page642.html
its pointless duplicating messages on different threads.
Why did you leave it so late ?
If I was not connected to the WBC and I wanted a job I would have started applying in March.

Sorry but the WBC deadline has already passed and the places have already been allocated hence why I mentioned the other Bar operators as they use different deadlines.

I will not be applying although I do find it strange that myself with 22 years Festival bar experience { working on average ten festivals per year } would not be accepted for that vacancy but any Student with no bar experience is welcome.
By the way I do not get paid as a WBC Organiser nor will anyone find any posts where I was recruiting for anyone to join my team .
While I have helped people to find a WBC Team { not connected to my Team } at no time was I ever doing it for commission and I really think that anyone advertising vacancies should spell out exactly why they are posting .

you won't be offered bar work at glasto on that site, maybe at other events though. Only glasto work they will have is manning the car par parks as entry to festival is so restricted the regular charities that provide staff find it hard to recruit for people who will be spending their time solely standing in a field and with only 1 day in the festival itself.
Totally agree also about the lack of transparency with this poster who appears to have just joined the site to pimp their affiliate link and earn a commission on people registering for vacancies that are likely to be very disappointing or even non-existent at glastonbury.
Wonder if any festival officials can confirm they use this company for staffing at all, or it's just a scam to get people to register who will then be offered work at other events instead?

Sorry you missed the point - I already have a volunteer bar job at Glastonbury { and other events } and I don't earn a penny .
I just found it strange they were only after students.
Clearly if a person is up front its better for everyone.
Although I can see that some recruitment agencies may be building up their lists by advertising for jobs that may or may not be actual jobs.

Why is that so strange? Every employer/agency knows that students are the cheapest type of worker you can find and will also usually put up with the worst conditions for the lowest pay!

The affiliate codes in the links above have now been removed and the sockpuppets have been banned.
The OP and the "helpful" poster with the links are one and the same person.

Damn Sock-Puppets! Had to giggle tho as kevin/ollie is exactly the sort of person that gives 'affiliate marketing' a bad name by such spammy behaviour!
Though active old link still quoted in post #9
