Default Pylon Ground?
It's hard to work it out on the map, and I've read Tort's guide as well ;p

I was wondering what Pylon Ground is like. Would you recommend it as somewhere that's less likely to get very muddy/wet in the unlikely chance of rain

I'd rather camp in Oxylers/Dance Field, but I'm worried that if this weather continues (which it wont), we'll end up with a tent full of mud and water (it's not our tent!).

How much of a trek is Pylon Ground? It looks very close to John Peel and Dance Village, but is it as close as it looks on the map?

Plus, are the pylons a nightmare when it comes to noise? Is the buzzing as bad as some people say?

Pylon Ground was new last year when it was simply called "New Camping Lower". As you will have seen from the photo on the FAQs it was probably the most sparcely inhabited field on the whole site on the thursday lunchtime. It's on a bit of a slope so as long as you camp nearer to the northern edge of the field it shouldn't get too muddy what with the relatively light footfall. It is very close to JP and the Dance Village. And all high voltage power lines tend to crackle in wet weather so avoid if this is likely to be an issue.

Thank you Tort!

So it's close to the action then?

Oddly enough I really enjoyed sitting by our tent with the background noise of the Other Stage when we camped in Oxylers last year (although eating our noodles with La Roux playing wasn't the best! )

I worry that Pylon Ground will seperate us from the main festival areas, but it's lack of popularity due to how new it is (I hope), means it's unlikely to turn in to a complete muddy mess in the chance of rain.
