Default Purple gate
Just noticed the purple route off the A37. Does traffic coming south down the A37 get shepherded along this? If so which car parks do you end up in? It appears to lead towards E1 - E5. If you end up near here can you get to Gate B or are you routed to gate C? Which is likely to be the busiest early on Wed?

I didn't see this route when last at Glasto in 2008- has it appeared since then?

Have to admit this is a new one on me & I can't see any mention of it on the 2011 map. Which version are you looking at?

Tort:
It's shown on the GoogleEarth Glasto map and I found a reference to it on this thread : http://forum.glastowatch.co.uk/showt...ghlight=Purple and another thread I can't locate now.

So it is! My guess is it may be a staff access. Paolo the map guru is already onsite but I'll text him and see if he can shed any light.

It's a limited hours thing. You can't just pick it, just aim for it and hope it is open.
So there you go. By the way the queues at Gate B were actually much worse last year than C. Some friends of mine waited there for over 5 hours last year.

I had disable parking last year and we were told to follow the purple route on to site...This didn't help however as once we got onto the carparks the car park stewards sent us the wrong way and we ended up in E3 (which was not disabled parking!) My friends ended up doing all the carrying to and from the car which was quite nice but I did feel incredibly guilty and annoyed as getting the disabled parking pass involved getting copies of my hospital notes and stuff which was time consuming...

So, if I want to be sure to avoid the queues at gate B and the purple gate and enter by gate C when approaching from Shepton Mallet I have to either go around the Bath and West showground and approach the A37 opposite Pylle along a local lane from the A361 or drive down the A37 without my windscreen sticker displayed until I'm approaching the blue route gate? This will be Tuesday night about 9ish.

Sorry but I have no personal experience of the Eastern Carparks since 1999 so I'd say just follow your intuition. And the fact the queues were bad at Gate B last year doesn't necessarily mean the same will happen this time. When problems arise they are generally assessed and fixed for the following year as far as possible.
