Question Posting my friends ticket
I need to get a ticket to my friend but neither of us really have the time to meet each other before Glastonbury.

Is there a safe way to send it by post? I am not worried by theft just accidental loss. If that does happen, are there any mechanisms to get another ticket before the festival?

Probably just being paranoid but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks

Send it by registered post. If it does go missing then at least you have some come back on the post office.

i spoke to royal mail yesterday about safe postage and they said the safest way to send mail is "special delivery"
Its the only way that your parcel/letter can be tracked from leaving post office to its destination
should only be a couple of quid (i think lol)

Registered post can sometimes take longer than normal post, special delivery guarantees it next day and you can also insure it.

Price depends on the weight (not an issue in this case unless you are posting some crates of beer as well) and you can chose an AM or PM delivery. Usually around a fiver but worth it

I'm no expert but I do a lot of this at work - full of useless information me.

I had to send off some documents up North (I'm about as south as you can get), and I did it by Special Delivery. Cost around £6 and was delivered next day.

Not always I had to wait 9days on special delivery for my FA cup final ticket that I paid an extra 5quid for which according to royal mail was un-refundable even though it was guaranteed so bare that in mind as it aint always reliable

I'm sending two over to a friend I bought them for in the re-sale and will be sending them special delivery. Fingers crossed his postie isn't as bone idle as the one we have at work. He frequently leaves recorded and special delivery items in the post box downstairs which isn't secure. I told him off for it last week and he said

"There was absolutely no way for me to get it to you as the lift wasn't working"
(I'm on the 3rd floor)

"What, do you mean APART from using the stairs?!"

He starts looking a bit sheepish at that point.

"Or maybe you could have buzzed me and I could have come down and got the parcel myself (since I don't find 3 flights of stairs to be an insurmountable obstacle to doing my job)."

(I didn't really say that bit, just thought it!)

Sorry, phew. Rant over. I have issues with the Post Office...

Your not worried about the ticket going missing so close to the actual festival?

I bet your friend is.
