Postcards from the festival?
Hello all!
Just wondering if anyone had sent a postcard from the festival before, I've seen the stall there for the past couple of years where you can buy a postcard and they will post it for you?
I'm trying to find a novel way to ask someone out, rather than just like a text message or something similarly crap, they get embarrassed really easily and would probably go red and explode if I asked in person anywhere remotely public, and I thought that the postcard might be a nice way and would be something for them to keep hold of... but was just wondering if I would get back before the postcard did? I would do it on the Wednesday we arrive, but if it's not going to reach London within a few days there probably isn't much point...
Any ideas/experiences would be greatly appreciated. Or alternate ways to ask someone out haha I'm not very inventive...

Yes, I have sent them before, it's a really cool stall, and the profits go to Amnesty International, so yeah, go and do it If you send it on the first couple of days then it should get there before you get home, no problem.

I sent 3 post cards last year, couldnt believe it when I found the stand near the green fields! I always send postcards to my mates and my family where ever I go and I always buy one for myself which I keep as a memory of my trip!
The stand I got mine from was swamped with people so its obviously something others do too! There were so many to choose from and they provide pens and sell stamps. Not anywhere good to lean on though! I sent 3 and one definitely for to North London by Saturday as my fella's mum text me to say she had received it! I think the others probably arrived at the same time too but cant be sure.
I love this idea - send it!!!

Ah awesome! Thanks for the quick replies
Even MORE excited now... although, if they say no it might put a dampener on the rest of the weekend... here's hoping haha!
And nice picture subtitles! Well done for winning!

I sent my friend a birthday card from the festival last year, sure the one we went to was in the market area and there was space to 'lean' there, plus there was loads of little ink stamps to decorate your card.
Love the idea - hope you get a yes!

Info points also do a bi-daily trip to the post office to catch the two posts.

I think you have been getting close to said person recently or you would never know " would probably go red and explode"
This is the sweetest thing I have read for ages because you have taken the time to find out what they do/don't like and I think you already know they will say yes. Just when you do go out on your date in a couple of weeks don't bore them to tears with glasto talk. That will come in 2013 when you buy both your tickets.
But sayig that I have been drinking (practice ) but I do think it's very sweet and even if you are as ugly as sin it would prob work for at least one date.

I've only ever sent one, and it arrived next day. Which was especially good going as Howard Marks autographed it for me - right accross the address!

this Company has been going for nearly as long as me to Glastonbury although i think they have passed it on to their family
http://festivalpostcards.com/about/
and yes they do post them on.
I have a collection going back to when they first started as the artwork is good.

That's a brilliant idea, a really sweet way to ask someone out. Go for it! And let us know how it goes. Bon chance!

I cannot believe that I have only just seen this!
I am Hester and I run the Postcard Stall. I hope so much that you found us and sent a Postcard to the lucky lady...did things work out??
Thank you to everyone that told RickySSmith that we DO post the cards and they DO get there.
