Dear Glasto friends
You will know that
Andrew Kerr is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the 1971 Glastonbury festival that he organised, when the original Pyramid Stage was created. He has a fantastic line-up for the occasion on a 7000 capacity tribute stage and please allow me to plug one act in particular! For the first time a classical string quartet will play their own set on a large stage at Glastonbury:
“New to Glastonbury this summer the Solstice Quartet is an exciting young classical string quartet achieving international recognition. Formed on a winter solstice and based in London they have played live on Radio 3, featured in the film 'An Education', performed at major venues across Britain and Europe, won competitions including the Royal Overseas League and played at festivals including Dartington, Aberystwyth and Edinburgh. They will be performing on Friday and Saturday on the 7000 capacity 'Spirit of '71' stage in Glastonbury Fair."
The programme is mixed and high energy so hopefully there will be something for all listeners.
