Phone Charging
Hola Glastafarians
Well time is ticking away till i well and truly pop my Glasto Cherry. Not sure what to expect yet....but in my head i have a plan.
aaahhhh good times
Any way back to my point !!
I am taking a crappy phone with me that has a crappy battery life and was wondering whether there was any other phone charging places then the Orange chill and charge tent.
I have been told that queues are mental.
could you very wonderful glasto guru's shed some light and understanding for me.
Mucho Thanks

a few traders will charge your phone for you at a cost.
Or up in the Greenfields there was a Bicycle Charging point you pedal and it charges you phone.

You could always buy a cheap (£10) phone and stick your SIM in it. The battery will last a lot longer on a basic phone, plus you can easily charge them from a couple of AA batteries.

the chil and charge is spread out this year so there are many places you can queue to get a charge. Also if you ask nicly at info points and we have a plug free and you have your charger well charge them for a small donation.

The Orange tent got busy last year because they had TVs showing some footballing business. Oh, and it got raving hot in there too.
There are always quiet times, if there's a massive queue, just try later.
Altenatively, try a solar charger? Aldi were doing them as a special offer.

The AA charger seems good! It's too late to get it delivered, wonder if you can get in the old fashion method of the high street!
*fingers crossed*

No sure about the AA charges on the high street , but alternatively, try a solar charger? Aldi were doing on for £10-£12. ...The Solar ones need fully charging via a USB port first then use the sun to recharge....
Im just taking my normal phone and 2 old phones fully charged, I can just swap out the sim card, as long as each phone last 2 days ill be ok.... its only for finding mates inside glasto anyway...im shutting myself off from work and the outside world for 5 days....
1 1/2 at days work to go !!

I have little faith in solar chargers (I work with solar pv/renewables so would rather take a break when away from work)
I will have a look around tomorrow and see if I can source one. I do have 3 batteries for my Sony Vivaz (pile of rubbish! Never works!) and I have a Nokia phone, with its key feature being it has a torch on the end (and it works more so then my Nokia phone)
I have never been on the Internet this much before at work! God knows what I will be like money!!!

I bought a battery pack from Amazon. It charges most phones, iphones, and laptops etc. You basically charge it from your comuter via USB, and then you transfer the charge from the pack to your gadget when needed. A bit pricier at £22 but i've already tried it and i can get 2 full charges out of it for my iPhone!

I actaully got sunstroke on the Thursday from sitting and waiting in the chill and charge area - it literally took 3 hours to charge an iphone!

Orange tent wasn't too bad last year even on the sunday when the football was on-as said earlier if it's busy-mooch off for an hour and then pop back.

There is more phone charging places this year, like 3? Are they all chill n charge as well?
I have used the chilln charge twice on two seperate years and didnt have too much of a problem - no waiting around asI went early doors both times (like 9am). Plus I had a rubbish Samsung which no one else had so all the charger wires were free for those!! lol
This year tho I expect to be waiting for a while as I have a Blackberry - unsure yet if I would bother charging it - depends how many people I decide to call when drunk and on a love buzz to tell them I wish they were here!!
