Default Panic Attack
I am at the stage of not coming!! I've got that stressed out thinking about going with my son that I'm almost catatonic!

I'm stressed about can I carry it all and get on the shuttle bus with my buggy, will the driver refuse to take me and said buggy....
Will I cope....Will I have enough food, clothing, money urghhh

I never used to be like this just pack and go.........didn't matter if I didn't eat!!!

Please calm me down

dont give up now, it will be fantastic for you and your boy.

the regrets you would have by not going would far outweigh the problems you are going to encounter by not having enough supplies.

I'm sure there will be no probs with getting an umbrella bug on the bus... I'd think most people would go out of their way to help you too, all in the Glasto spirit!

Of all the places to take your kid, I think Glasto is bound to be one of the best catered for, so try to relax and go with it, I'm sure you'll both have a ball. I'm taking my 7 yr old for the first time and the only thing I'm concerned about is how to keep her awake til late each night... if I thought she'd fit in a buggy I'd take one!

The first two nights I'll be there on my own with two kids and that includes carting everything from the car and putting up the tent with them - and have never been before - so am also feeling that there will be some stress involved, but am determined to try and just chill out about it all, I'm sure it will be fine. I understand that anything important we forget, we can buy there, so that helps take away some of the worry. We're going to try head for the Wicket Ground family camping area which looks like the easiest to get to.

If your son is small enough you could take a sling type carrier? We bought an ErgoBaby one and it's great.

you will be amazed at how much energy kids have when at glastonbury. My youngest was 6 or 7 when she 1st went and we would take blankets and she just cat napped during the day and managed to party on till quite late. Kids will sleep through anything and in anything when they are tired so dont worry, she will be fine.

It will be fine, the shuttle bus won't turn you away, everyone has bags and all kinds of stuff, a pushchair won't be any different. You can buy food there, and if you run out of money, the Krishnas do free food so you won't starve. There is even a laundry at the bottom of Cockmills if you need anything washing, I know what kids can be like for wetting themselves and stuff, so that's that sorted out.

I know what it's like to have panic attacks and have missed out on some amazing gigs because of them, don't let them get the better of you, once you are there, it'll be fantastic. Your little un will love the Kidz Field, Circus and cabaret fields, Greenpeace etc, it's so colourful and exciting, it will be such an adventure!

Thank you everybody! You are all so kind! Its not a pushchair its a bike trailer that you can turn into a buggy so its quite big BUT have now changed plans *phew* getting a lift up and buying parking ticket there.....
So now new question which road in should we take to get on gate B side for Cockmill Meadow? I'm only coming from Dorset...(Thank you for your kind offer Ceeliney)

He is actually 8 but the buggy has 2 uses just to help me carry the stuff and its big enough for Ev to crash out in at night..x

I've never come from your side myself, but looking at the varous maps etc you want to be coming up the A37 and heading along the "Blue Route" for cars. This should put you on course for gate B.

When you start seeing stewards, tell them that you want gate B, don't go to gate C as I sure that is the "Hill of death" route.

Good luck and have a great festival, maybe see you at the meet on thurs?

Default It will all be worth it!
Hiya
I have been loads of times but it is only my second with a little one - it will be fab!
The getting to the campsite and getting set up is always the most pain in the ass/stressful time - after that you will have a wonderful time and so will your son, I promise! And it is true bout the galstospirit - people will help you if you are struggling.

Word of advice? - the NCT tent in the kids field is great!!!! They provide some food for littlies, baby baths, changing facilities, free cups of tea for mums.

See you in the Kids Field!!
Anna
