older woman seeks others!!
Hello everyone,
I find myself, aged 50+ attending glasto for the 3rd time. I camp with family and friends however they are mostly in couples and I would really like to know if anyone out there is in a similar position and would be up for a a bit of meet and exploring? Or if anyone knows of any pre-existing groups of saddo singles of men and women in my position that I can join?
Far out (!)
Jilly

Hi Jilly, welcome to the forum. I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems finding new friends at glasto. Get to know us on the forum and meet up with us when we have our little get together.

Hi Jilly,
snap!! I'm the wrong side of 60, third Glasto, going with my son and meeting friends who are couples with kids. Would be great to meet up with others in a similar position. I'm sure we cant be the only 'saddo' singles!!

That is fab, look forward to it, its great to share the experience. As you say they may be others in the same boat, there must be in the vast amount of people that are there. What is your favorite part?

Hi Jilly
Looking foreward to meeting up.
My favourite Glasto bits? Love some of the big names eg Muse, Neil Young but also enjoy the less well known names that you just come across, in fact those
surprises are often the best. Also enjoy the green fields the amazing food and best of all the wonderful atmosphere.
What sre your best bits?
Kay.

Hi Kay and subtitlesonly,
My favorite bits are the theatre field and Shangrila although just being there and the great atmosphere of acceptance to be who ever you want to be is great.
Looking forward to meeting new people who know about different bits and enhance the experience.

More oldies than you can shake a stick at!!
Hi Jilly (and all the others over the magic number!) I'm also 50+, second timer and flying solo again. Great to learn there are so many others in the same boat and would love to meet up.
I've just clicked ... it's NEXT MONTH!!

Arrival
Coming down from Brighton by coach on the Wednesday and should be there at about 11.30. Not sure where to camp yet, but thinking about Park Home Ground unless the forecast is bad (not that it will be of course!).
Best moment from last year? (my first). Really hard to pick, but possibly coming onto the site for the first time on the Wednesday morning, in fantastic sunshine, buying a pint in the first bar I came to (near the Meeting Point) and just sitting on a bench outside taking it all in. Hundreds of amazing moments after that though.

And another oldie sigining in.... 51 and this will be my seventh Glastonbury (two with my daughter in 1999/2000, two working 2007/8 and 2009/10 with a friend).
Campsites used: Holts 1999 and 2009 (almost my favourite: pity it's unusable this time); Dragon Field 2000 (fun when the lorry parked through the fence and turned into an extra pedestrian gate); outside the fence to the North 2007/2008 (stewards' and medics' camping area) and Park home just down from the entrance to the Park in 2010....

Can I come too?
This is my first Glasto and I'm flying solo until my daughters arrive late Friday.
And when they do arrive, they won't want their old dad hanging around with them.
Mind you - the feeling will be mutual!
I'm arriving Tues night, putting up 3 tents on Wed morning - Yes 3 tents!! (one for me, one for my 2 girls and possibly another for their friends who arrive on Thursday).
After that, I'll definitely need a
