Default Newbie Saying Hello and a few questions
Evening all

Found this site via Google

My m8 has gone to glasto (his first time) he has been keeping me upto date via texts etc and now IM DETERMINED TO GO TO 2011.

however i have heard the ticket purchase is not as easy ie register etc and then its a lottery ,re registration doesn't guarantee you tickets...It's just a form you fill out, you upload a passport size pic and they give you a registration number. is there any way i can defo get a couple of tickets ?

Also i have never been to any kind of festival prob biggest gig i went to was oasis @ knebworth and guns n roses @ Milton Keynes i did used to have loads of camping stuff but over the years got rid of it all can you suggest to me what i will need etc to make my experience better and comfortable .

Thanks & Hello All

Hi,

There is a registration process later in the year, like you said. Then, on ticket day you just have to get up early, and try! Last year I got a pair with no real problems but some friends had a bit of a more difficult time(I think they were ordering by phone, they got tickets in the end though).
This year I wasn't going to go but I got an email about a ticket re-sale and gave it a go - I got a pair in the resale without any real problems. So, there's no guaranteed way but if you do miss out on ticket day there's usually a resale after the refund-deadline.

I've never been unable to get a ticket and I don't do anything special, just try connecting on ticket day and eventually you get there (then you have a tense wait while you wait for the confirmation email!).

As for camping stuff there are tons of threads about it - try a search for "packing list".

anybody who wants to try for a ticket need an individual and unique reg number, if your friend gets a ticket and then changes mind the ticket is NON transferable, registering is free and pretty easy so even if a friend is unsure then still reg them.
one way to be sure you hear about the ticket sales/registration is to keep coming back on here, if Glastonbury festivals announce ANYTHING then it usually appears on here within minutes.
also if you start to make friends on here over the next year then it wont be half a daunting when you finally get to the festival.
