Hi - I'm new to Glastonbury - can anyone tell me how difficult it is to get hold of tickets? We soooo want to go the Glastonbury 2011 - I have registered yesterday and sent photos - waiting to hear if they have been accepted. Can I get an e-mail sent to me automatically anywhere when tickets go on sale for 2011 - I want to be ready and poised at my computer on the morning they go on sale!! Will be soo disappointed if we don't get tickets. Any info would be greatly received. Many thanks.

Hi Anita, welcome to the forum,
tickets generally go on sale the 1st weekend in october but that isn't deffinate. Usually there are options to pay the whole amount or a 50 pound deposit on the day and the balance payable by end of feb.

if you keep coming back to this forum any questions will be answered and if you are on twitter then follow glastowatch. you will get to know the ticket sale date through him, here or the official website.
some people have problems getting tickets and its not guaranteed but there is another ticket sale in april so you do get 2 chances.

Hi Anita,
I went for the first time this year and it was AMAZING! I went with my best friend and my 16year old daughter and her friend. We all enjoyed it so much, on different levels. I found this forum at the beginning of June and it has been very informative and a bit of a laugh. I tend to read loads of posts but dont really say much myself! Stinkywitch, who replied to you, is the fountain of all knowledge and funny too! My photo was rejected 5 times before I could register, my family said it was because I was too old!!

For some reason they dont accept digital pics which are too high quality. I had to dig out an old camera to take my pic for last year. Anyway once they have accepted your pic they will let u know that you are registered and also when tickets go on sale. Good luck on nerve-wracking ticket day !

Thank you all for the info - if we get tickets will be taking our 2 daughters - ages 9 and 15. Still waiting to hear if photos approved - fingers crossed!!! Will defo keep coming back to this site - full of friendly people keen to help. Thanks all x x x

i registered the day registration opened and got a email but not had a e-mail to confirm photo has been accepted or not and that was 9 days ago the email i got is below.

how long shud it to to get confirmation about photo ?

I also haven't heard whether our photos have been accepted. I e-mailed seetickets yesterday to try and find out how long it takes to get photos approved - I've copied below the e-mail I got back:-

It’s taking longer than anticipated for registrations to clear. The demand has been phenomenal and although registrations are being approved relatively quickly it’s taking a number of days for confirmation to reach those that have registered.

I recommend leaving it for a few days and if you do not hear anything try running a registration through again ensuring you check the box asking: "Save your registration details for future years"

I wouldn't get worried just yet, there is still 50 weeks before the festival and 3 months before ticket sales.
Its usually very busy just after the festival so try to relax, take a deep breath an hang on for a week or 2. Easier said than done, I know.
They are not as fussy as government agencies regarding your pics.

It will be open again before october im pretty sure. but leave it a week and then either ring them or re register.

I have just tried to register and am awaiting photo confirmation. If I hear within the next couple of days will let you know. Just think its very busy because it was so brill this year and the weather was so good! Good luck to us all!

if you think things are stressfull now then just wait untill ticket day and then waiting for the confirmation email is thrombosis enducing then you relax a bit and someone posts and says they have their ticket and you start panicing that yours is lost and then just before the festival you worry about your travel arrangements and what if you break a leg just before..............

but it is well worth it

my reg numbers just come through as well (after 8 days)-now stroll onto 3 Oct & keeping the fingers crossed!

(btw -is it 3 Oct this year? when will the date be announced?-we are going on holiday on 1st and have to find someone to trust to get by the phone/pc!)

Based on it being on the 1st Sunday in October for the last couple of years, it'll probably be 3rd Oct this year, though that's not guaranteed.

They will announce it when they feel like it, it can happen at any time.
