New Bands
Unless you never leave the main stages you always come across some new bands by accident, but who is definitely planning on seeing someone they've never seen before ?
I picked out a few that I would like to catch
Little Dragon, Warpaint, James Vincent Mcmorrow, Marcus Bonfanti & Dub FX
Some I chose courtesy of Jools Holland and some last night from the Festival Explorer site

I've heard a lot of good things about warpaint but not got round to listening to them yet. I have listened to a few of the smaller bands on the line ups but not heard anyone I love yet, Im excited about seeing two door cinema club and tame impala though, not seen either of them before.

We missed Two Door CInema Club last year because we were in a massive queue for food of all things (we had paid and then had to wait for the food!) so they are on our list this year.
Will do some ambling around and see what takes our fancy as well.

Yuck are insanely boring live, 4 times last summer and none of them really did anything for me.
Bands to REALLY see are below, but excited for Bright Eyes, Eels, Kloot, Streets, Jah Wobble..

Even though I will definitely be checking out some big names like U2 and Queens of the Stone Age, I'm also looking forward to new bands like Raghu Dixit, Tame Impala and the Rabbit Foot Spasm Band!

Streets will be good, this is their final tour and the last album was the final one too so it will be an emotional farewell for me. I love what Mike Skinner does.
Also I've only ever seen Chemicals do DJ sets so that will be mint, muchos tripping & md in order I think

Have to agree with that. Saw Streets support Muse a few years ago and I was blown away by them. Muse like using them as support as they are so good at getting the crowd going!
As for the Chems, highly recommended! My mate Jim came back to the tent one year (can't even remember when, but must have been in the 90s), and said he'd found this new area called The Glade and seen this really cool DJ set by "these two guys". Further investigation revealed that it was indeed the Chemical Brothers!

They are not really new like but definitely check out Bright Eyes, Gruff Rhys, Graham Coxon and Ron Sexsmith - no idea why he's only on the bloody avalon cafe stage and going on stage an act but one after the blimmin Wombles.......travesty!
Saying that, there are a lot of poo poor acts at G it seems, I guess cause it's so big, but I mean "Paul from the Mavericks" what a joke!

Just a couple from me if you fancy something a little out of the ordinary:-
I saw Mama Rosin at Bearded Theory a couple of weeks ago and thought they were phenomenal. Real foot stomping Cajun stuff.
Also Dengue Fever who I saw both at Wychwood and at WOMAD about 3 years ago. West Coast psychedelia with a drop dead gorgeous Cambodian singer.
Both thoroughly recommended if you fancy a break from all that bland white boy indie guitar dross that passes for so much “new” music these days.

If yous want a good beatboxer get down to shlomo on west holts first thing on friday he's bloody amazing!!! Seen him at least once for the last 4 years and he never gets old!
For me I want to see The King Blues as i've heard a fair bit of good stuff about them and also Hip Hop Karaoke, i know it aint a band as such but as the name goes its karaoke to hip hop which in my books can only be hilarious

I've seen Shlomo many times & he's excellent but I still say Beardyman is the king of the beatboxers.
King Blues are superb on their day but can also be a bit hit & miss. Hardly new though. I think I first saw them about 6 years ago in Camberwell Green.
eta another vote for Darwin Deez. He/they were a real find when I saw them at Green Man last summer.
