You asked for mega advice... this is it! Tort has a lot of fans on this site - read this and he'll have one more!
If you know where you're camping, then look at the map on the glasto site (
http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.u...map6june11.jpg) and see which the nearest gate is. Try and approach from the appropriate direction as you can find yourself heading into a car park on the opposite side to where you're camping! It's not the end of the world, once you're in you're in, but you will have a walk ahead of you! We're coming from London (east of Glastonbury) but will be going down the M4, then down the M5 so we can approach from the west. That way we hit the West Car Park, close to Gate D and only a field away from our chosen campsite.
Nelly is spot on about all things dress-wise. Footwear needs to be comfortable as you'll be doing a lot of walking! It's a huge site and there's more to explore than you'll ever fit in! Sadly, it looks like boots will be required this year... I always wear a pair of army boots I picked up at Glastonbury in '98. High ankles, waterproof and
very comfortable. Docs will do, but might not cope with the worst of the (potential) mud. Wellies are ideal, but I find them uncomfortable to wear for a whole weekend. Just bear in mind two things: you need to be comfortable and it's a farm! And as for clothes, layers and waterproofs. And shorts and t-shirts. And sandals. And a hat...!
One thing that will take you by surprise is just how much you can buy when you're there! Cold? Buy a hand-knitted jumper. Wet? Buy an army poncho. Forgot your tent? Go to the Millets stall and buy one. Hungry? Boy, have you got a treat in store! Thirsty? Woo hoo!

Need a new wallet? Go to the Make a Tetrapak Wallet Workshop...
Have a wonderful, wonderful festival! Nothing to be wary of, you'll love it!
