Default More daft questions from first timer Sarah
Hi! Do we get to know when bands are performing, like is there a timetable(!)?

When we arrive, do we get a map or anything?

We have car park sticker but nothing telling us where to park. Can we chose or are we sent where we are told?

Would LOVE recommendation on campsite for us two older ladies and 2 sixteen year old girls. Is high ground better in case of rain?! Do all areas have loos? Would like somewhere bit quieter!

Sure these questions must seem laughable but hey ho, got to learn sometime!

Cool
when you get there and get your wrist band, you will be given a program(with a map in) and fine guide in a lanyard thingy with a map and a list of when everyones playing.

you wanna look at the fine guide that came with your tickets, work out where your coming in from and then work out where your going to camp

as for the camping side of it, Big ground even row mead not to noisy at night, if you wanna abit of peace at night id stay away from pennard's and the park side the east side, just imo

hope this helps, iv always camped in the same place till we started taking the kids now we stuck in cockmill meadow ( family camping )

There's nothing to worry about. The only useful part of it is the map and that's out of date! e.g. no Leftfield.

Download and print the one from the Glasto site for the most up to date map.

I haven't got my tickets or car pass yet (workers are always the last to get them!) so this is based on previous years. Your car pass will be a certain colour and shape, eg orange circle. As you approach the site, you will start to see little signs with coloured shapes on - follow the appropriate one and you will be directed to the corresponding car park. There are loads of car parking stewards to direct you so you shouldn't get lost. They also fill up one car park before moving to the next so don't be surprised if you drive past loads of what looks like good parking spots before finally parking up.

As for what's on, you will get a programme UNLIKE THE STEWARDS WHO HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM!!! Sorry, one of my annual whinges - punters are always coming up asking if we know where so-and-so is playing but how are we supposed to know if the festival won't give us a programme? Some of us can sometimes turn on the charm and persuade the nice Oxfam stewards on the gate to let us have a free programme but we shouldn't have to resort to that.

Whinge over, smile back on now

If you want to find out who's on where and when Sarah then this is the best way by far:

Yes, discovered this a couple of years ago and it is ideal. I print a couple out - stick one up in our steward 'office' for everyone to consult and carry the other around to answer punters' questions when on duty as well as for my own benefit.

We should still get a free programme though!

sarah the best place to camp for space + atmosphere is just above the pyramid stage every one is really nice, there is some space and its great to chill outside your tent in the sun whilst watching whoever is playing the pyramid and it won't flood.
As i am 16 i hope you are going to let your two 16 year olds walk about with freedom and let them not have a curfew as it will spoil their glastonbury experience
Take the time on Thursday to plan your festival but don't expect to do everything you want to do. Enjoy the randomness of what you may find.

Hope you have a whale of a time

I always used to camp there - above the line of trees/pylons near the farmhouse. That's where the flushing toilets are too. I'd be there if we didn't have a toddler with us.

Yeah, that ^^ Don't be too fixated on seeing certain bands, you will almost certainly miss at least half of what you plan to see but will probably end up doing something more interesting and fun instead - my most memorable Glastonbury moments are pretty much all non-band ones (or at least non-main stages).

Thank you. What is the name of the camping field above the main stage and above the line of trees/pylons near the farmhouse which also has flushing loos please?!
