Default Line-up rumours 2011
The 2011 line-up rumours have started already.

Looks like Coldplay might be back next year.

hhmm well as I cannot go next year due to work commitments and we have this years to go yet and I'm not really a coldplay fan - meh

Joking aside why talk about next year before this year has been on. I thought they usually kept things quiet...

Eminem

Quote:
Eminem is being lined up to headline next year's Glastonbury Festival, reports suggest.

The rapper, who recently performed 29 songs at last weekend's T In The Park, is wanted to perform at the three-day event by organiser Michael Eavis, says MTV.

Kylie Minogue and Radiohead have also been rumoured to perform. However, a U2 slot looks unlikely after the band announced their rescheduled US tour dates, which are around the same time as the festival.

Eavis previously ruled out the possibility of Minogue returning to the event, despite having performed with the Scissor Sisters at this year's show.

Apparently Michael Eavis has told Heat West Country that he's booked "an American artist" as one of the headliners.

Quote:
Michael Eavis tells Heart West Country a "American artist" he's wanted for "years and yonks" is booked to headline Glastonbury 2011
http://twitter.com/jobiphone/statuses/20866940261

Notice he said "artist" not "act" which suggests it's a solo performer.

So we know Friday is still free, though he's asked U2 to fill that slot, and he's booked a Yank for one of the other days.

Prince? What other American artists who haven't already played Glasto are there with the stature to headline? Eminem did other UK festivals this year, so I doubt it'll be him as Glasto doesn't usually follow what the other fests do. Any ideas?

Stonefield

But they had another big offer on the weekend that should more than make up for it. One of the booking agents from the massive Glastonbury Festival saw Stonefield play at a One Movement showcase gig and invited the sisters to play his festival in England next year.

Apparently Beyonce is pregnant.

If true, it makes a Glasto appearance unlikely.

It was said on XFM today that the Foo Fighters will be announcing a big summer tour. Perhaps a possibility to headline the other stage on one night? Wern't they rumoured last year as well?

Probably, i just said Other Stage with it looking like U2, Prince and Coldplay will headline the Pyramid and i see the Foo Fighters as a headline band.

Smile Daft Punk
I would really love to see Muse there! i saw them at wembley on the 11th... but i doubt it they will be there, because they are not on tour next year, and glasto never repeats headline acts 2 years in a row! Also I would love to see DAFT PUNK which is very likely, because they are going on tour next year..

Also apparently the american act is Beyonce, which im not really keen about :/

Default Stones will tour 2011
Keith Richards was interviewed on BBC 6 Music 'Stones will tour in 2011'

from http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/20101104_keith.shtml so you never know - will it be 2011 or 2013 ? -

lucky enough I have seen them live on many occasions including when Brian Jones was in the band but it would be handy if they made it to Glasto as there has to come a point when they jack in live shows completely.

One thing is certain - if they do play I will fix my shift as there is no way I will be behind a bar if the Stones play.

Rush

Quote:
Rush have always avoided the summer festival circuit in the UK, though Lee hints there might be a change of heart over major events like Glastonbury.

"For a while we steered away from big festivals, because you've got to be prepared to strip it all down for that kind of show," he explains.

"But we played some festivals this summer in Canada and in the US and they went really well. So it's got us thinking that maybe that's something we would do over here in the future."
