Lift offered From Huddersfield/Bradford/Leeds

Hi

I've been offered the use of an Escalade. Yes I know it's a very large guzzler which is despised by all and sundry (including myself), but my normal car is a bike or bus and have 2 families worth of gear, so needs must.

Anyway, offering a lift to two people, leaving early hours Wednesday morning coming back early Monday.

Based in Brighouse but willing to pick up from anywhere reasonably close.

How early is early? I live in Kirkstall and this sounds great but I am a bit of a keen bean and want to try and get there as early as possible as last year we got there about 4pm and the best pitches were already gone!

how much petrol money/cakes and snacks would you be expecting?

I'm still toying with the idea of late Tues very early Wed - either way we'll be on site before 10 Wed.

Is there just you or you and a mate? I have room for 2.

As for cost of fuel etc - dunno really, never driven it but considering the size of the engine I won't be going much above 60 so won't be too expensive.

Despite what a lot of people think it probably won't be much more inefficient than a fully laden VW camper or a fiesta pop with 4 bods and all their gear. *this of course is pure conjecture and open to argument.

Just worked it out - it'll be about £70 each (probably less - erred on the side of caution when working it out). Which is about the same as National Express but comfier and door to door.

just found out my girlfriend booked me a ticket on a coach and is all paid for so will be doing that.

My friend and I desperately need a lift back on Monday morning (we have our lift there covered) and I was hoping we could climb in with you, for half the cost as it would only be on the way back? We would really appreciate it! We live in Holmfirth but we can easily get back from Huddersfield, or even Brighouse, as we have done many a time!

I'm trying to find an alternative to the Escalade at the mo. I'll know for def next week sometime. If I have to take it and you're still not sorted, I'll give you a lift.

OK, I've not got use of the Escalade - I've actually got a Chevy Yukon - only 2mpg bloody different

Why does my boss insist on buying big American behemoths Not complaining that much - beats walking and my carbon footprint is usually a toe print.

So the offer of a lift to 2 peeps still stands. Would prefer both ways, but if I need to carry someone one way then so be it.
