Leaving London at 4pm on the Tuesday...

Hi All,

Me and my mates are heading down in a campervan on the Tuesday and are leaving london at 4pm.

Any ideas where the liklihood of being parked will be (we are in the East).

Its almost impossible to tell Minxy, but judging on last year you should get a reasonable spot not too far away. They seem to fill up the fields closest to Gate C and the hill first, working backwards from there.
Two years ago we were a long walk from the gate - about half an hour. Last year we got there about 8pm on the Tuesday night and were much closer - only a 10 min walk.
Although the traffic problems were eased by opening up the car parks and campervan fields on the Tuesday the end result is that people start arriving earlier and earlier.
Think you'll be ok getting there Tuesday night.

I agree with Mart, we got there early evening and were almost at the gates when we parked.

Do you know if they do the same with the car parks? As in fill up the closest fields to the gates first?

When we have driven before we have always had a bit of a walk - this year I am hoping to get there Tuesday night and get parked as close as possible!

last year we arrived at 6am on the wednesday morning and got to the front right near the gate. I have a feeling they fill up the far away ones 1st x x x

It's impossible to say as it changes from one year to the next and what might apply on the West side of the site won't necessarily apply on the East. I've got there before the gates opened in the past and literally been a 2 minute walk from the nearest gate but last year people arriving overnight were being sent into the west car parks on the north side of the A361, miles away from anywhere.
