Pretty sure they are fine as the sound of 'PSSFHHH' was quite common last year. In my case last year I didnt get searched or see anyone get searched throughout the whole quing experience, so tbh i dont think you will have a problem atall.

You may be fine but there was an increase in people inhaling hallucinogenics like DMT and Changa from balloons last year so they may be clamping down this time. Convincing Security that it's only laughing gas may prove tricky.
I'm no expert so the above may not be 100% accurate but I saw several people in Dance have cylinders and balloons confiscated and be asked to 'help Security with their inquiries'.

Any items which the organisers consider may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. Persons suspected of carrying out illegal and / or offensive activities onsite may be searched.

Think NO2 gets the name laughing gas due to the sellers laughing at people buying it personally. Was camped near some people at a fest last year who seemed to have a never ending supply of it, the 'PSSSFHHH' was almost constant, but I didn't hear them laugh once! And as for the litter caused by these capsules and the attendent balloons, I'd be quite happy to be labeled a grumpy ol' man by supporting a ban on them.
Gimme a nice bit of natural herb any time!

I feel sure if you got searched and they found 200 of anything they would assume you were going to sell it and therefore confiscate it.

think you are very possibly risking a bit of hassle and grief, whether classed as legal, anti-social or potentially trading without a license. Whether this would happen at the gate or within the festival itself is debatable, as is whether you would get 'caught'.
My advice/opinion, don't increase the risk of potential hassle from security or the boys in blue, as it can put a bit of a damper on the rest of the festival for you, as well as the friends who go with you who'll have to listen to you whine/rant about it for the rest of the weekend if they do get confiscated.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and LACORS, the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services have warned today that nightclubs and music festivals that sell nitrous oxide (laughing gas) may be prosecuted.
The sale of nitrous oxide for food related purposes (ie. whipping cream) is legal but its supply for inhalation is strictly illegal. The gas can only be supplied in this form by a registered pharmacist.
LACORS has written to councils across the UK, recommending that they warn nightclubs, festival organisers, and bars in their municipality of the status of Nitrous Oxide. Councils that find venues to be in breach of this warning would then report them to the MHRA, and potentially prosecute them.
The warning comes after at least two nitrous oxide-related deaths in the UK in recent months. Users may perceive the drug to be harmless, but there are both short and long term health effects to consider.
Martin Barnes, chief executive of DrugScope, welcomed the actions of the MHRA and LACORS:
"Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas as it is more often known, is by no means a risk free drug, and when used outside of a controlled medical setting it can be dangerous. Nitrous oxide replaces oxygen in the lungs. If taken in sufficient quantities and at a high enough concentration, it can lead to fatal asphyxiation.
"If the gas is inhaled directly from a canister, the pressure of the gas can cause damage to the lungs and may even freeze the throat, mouth or vocal chords - which may in itself lead to suffocation. Inhaling the gas significantly impairs motor control, meaning the user may fall, choke or vomit.
"Longer term, it has been suggested that regular use of the gas can cause depression and may also have an effect on red blood cells leading to anaemia."

Probably not as you're not doing anything illegal by simply having them in your possession and in all probability you'd be able to reclaim them at the end of the festival if you could be bothered.
The thing to remember however is that if they find NO2 canisters in your bags they are probably going to be a lot more thorough searching for other stuff too.

I got searched last year and i had bout 48, they came across it and because of the small quantity it was quite easy to persuade the guy searching it was for personal use, he was a nice guy tho and obviously working just for the free ticket, don't wanna know what a more strict guy would of done tho!!! After all 4 of my mates getting about the same amount in we did alot at our tent and there was no problem until a steward looking for some chavs robbing shit stumbled across us doing some, they took the 2 canisters that were on the floor (all ready used) and a lil bag of the herb, leaving us with the rest we had in our bags Its all bout luck of the stewards you come across!!!

stewards / security cant confercate stuff, exp drugs as that is robbery and later possession of said stuff. Only the police can.
Haing said that, if you refuse that can get the police over quickly and that can open a whole new set of problems.
Also for note, stewards / security cant take your wrist band either, there is a special place near the police compound where you are taken and have to pleed your case, it is here that is the only place where bands can be taken.

Don't mix stewards up with security - stewards are all about looking after punters and don't really worry too much about what you've been drinking, smoking, inhaling or swallowing unless you are in a bad way as a result. Security are pretty much the opposite.

Exactly. Most of us working with Stuart Security were the first sort (even when SIA badged), but there were a couple(?) of teams of the second sort - these guys had cameras and evidence collection bags and almost-but-not-quite=police-uniforms, and certainly had been delegated authority to search people and hold anything they found separately until the police could be involved.
I can't find it right now, but last year I found a "security" website with a blog by one of these guys. Let's just say they're very happy in their work....

I've been taking laughing gas to glastonbury for 3 or 4 years, I've never had a problem with it in the festival but couldn't comment on the gates, having never been stopped there. The chances of being stopped going in are about 1 in 100, especially if you get there as they open.
