In need of glasto buddy
Bought glasto tickets with my boyf, but have just broken up. He has friends to go with, but im left with a ticket and nobody to go with!!
This is my first glasto and im really looking forward to it, so dont really want to cancel my ticket.
I have travelled alone and never had a problem making friends, but it would be nice to have some campsite buddies!
Anybody else stuck in the same position?

Glasto buddy
I'm going on my own too (unless hubby gets a ticket in the resale) so we could try to camp nearby or meet up. Not sure how practical it is as never got the chance to go before!

hey. i've been to glasto 6 times (7th this year), and a couple of years ago the people i intended to attend with bailed out for financial reasons. i didn't want to miss out tho, so i went on my own. i'm entirely sure it's the best way to do it! there's always people i know there, but the best people are the ones you meet randomly, spend several days with and strike up firm friendships with. nowadays the people i go with know not to expect me around for anything, i just breeze around the site chatting shit to random people, seeing who and what suits me. who knows, i may end up chatting your ear off this year...

My third Glasto, but first year of 'going on own' ... but relishing the freedom... friend's are handy for navigation back to tent though! Forgive my ignorance Magik, but when you refer to the stone circle sessions... are you referring to gatherings where easy for indivduals to mingle at the stone circle?

I am also a girl going alone as my friend's couldn't get tickets or have decided to go to other festivals. Find me on facebook 'Lynne T'. This will be my 11th Glasto and as its their 40th anniversary don't want to miss it, but also don't fancy camping alone....
Thanks

The best thing to do is set up camp near whatever stage / area interests you most. Then just introduce yourself to the people around you. Most people will be more than friendly... though you may find the occasional Nooobs who doesn't seem to understand the spirit of the festival. Last year we ended up with a crate of pear cider from the neighbouring campers because they had to leave on the Sunday and couldn't be bothered to carry it. Excellent stuff! Best festival in the world!!!

Where are you from?
We've got a big group and as long as you're not a psycho you're more than welcome to camp with us.
And we've got a bus if you need to get down there.

Hi Stacey,
That's exactly what's happened to me!!
I thought about canceling my ticket but I've been to glastonbury 6 times, loved it, even in 2007 when it rained from start to finish, so decided there's no way I'm not going!

I'm sure you'll be fine. I went with loads of people last year and constantly couldn't find any of them so it was almost like being on my own anyway. By far and away the best night I had was the one I spent with random strangers in the healing fields.
There's room in my campervan too... Not the cheapest option but definitely the most luxurious!

Hi Rosemary.
Stone circle is a magical place and a bit like a one stop shop! You can buy "most" things at stone circle and see lots of smiley happy people.
It's the atmosphere along with a most fantastic view of the site that help to make it special.
You are more than welcome to come join us, we will be at stone circle at least once a day

I have to say I don't quite understand why threads are kept from year to year on here? This started before Glasto last year!? No longer relevant to the people who started it surely??

There's a Glastowatch meeting at 2.00pm on the Thursday in West Holts in front of the Brothers Bar - everyone is welcome and we'd love to see you there! See the "Buddy Up at Glasto 11" thread in Stone Circle for details. You can also see the "Splash Mob" thread, although to be honest, it might put you off...
But come along and join the party!
