Default HEADLINERS FOR 2013????
Hi everyone,

just thought id throw this into the mix and see who everyone would like to headline? I must admit when i heard that Beyonce was heaglining this year i was 50 / 50 and thought it wasn't really what Glastonbury is about.....but i was really surprised and thought she was amazing!!!

I would personally like to see maybe mumford & sons, madonna (lol) and foo fighters!!

what about everyone else?

also i have never been to glasto b4 but am hoping to go 2013!! jus wondering what type of attractons they have got there and also is a campervan recommended?

i still have Glasto fever from the weekend....although i wasnt there i went to many a glasto party lol!! xx

The campervan site is on the outside of Glasto if Im correct? So extra walking in and out of the site. This has its pro's and con's I guess.

Way too early to guess on acts, but Im thinking Pendulum as they are not touring during 2012 so Im sure they will be back for 2013!

I have a feeling maybe Eminem as they seem to get hip-hop/rap artists in so thats my guess. As for who will be the 'Beyonce' of Glasto 2013, guess it will be who is most active during 2012.

I did hear the headliners maybe already in teh bag, but Im not sure if I believe this as it could get 'leaked'.

guess its all conjecture but the names I have heard bandied around are led zep/stones/madonna/pinkfloyd/roger waters but I suppose things may change so much in two year who knows? will the stones still be alive in 2013??!!

got huge goosbumps thinking about pink floyd or roger waters - i saw him perform the wall 4 weeks before glasto and it blew my mind - probably the second best gig of my life after muse headlining last year.

Also after radiohead my crew all went to the acoustic tent to see Brit Floyd with an audience of around 500. Was a beautiful gig.

Hate to say it as i am a huge fan but very dissapointed i missed mumford for radiohead this year.... i'm not convinced they could do a headline pyramid gig tho, just not that sort of band. Perfect for the other stage tho; full props for their set this year.

would love a full radiohead gig but can't see it happening!

We were at Brit Floyd (I'm a big fan of PF but can't see a reconciliation on the cards sadly), absolutely bloody brilliant (and dry too!)

Well the Eavis' have mentioned how they'd like the Stones there, so could be them?

I'm not sure Mumford are headline material, as said above they work well for the Other stage, but I wouldn't call them headliners (at least, not yet).

Think big

If mumford release one or two great albums between now and 2013, they're definitely main stage headliners, they're not far off already.

Pink Floyd, Muse, Foo Fighters, Eminem, in that order.

Why would Muse headline 3 years after headlining before?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that a 2013 headliner had already been booked.

Much as I'd love it, can't see Plant agreeing to Zeppelin. He just doesn't seem all that interested in the idea (although, yes, he's a great one for saying, "never say never"). As for the Floyd, well, that seems even less likely. Gilmour has constantly said that their Live8 appearance was a great way to draw a line under the whole thing (probably the single best gig I've been to, so inclined to agree) and since Rick Wright died I really can't see him changing that view. And to be honest, I've heard the Stones rumour every single year since I first went. Still could happen, but I'll keep breathing for now.

But then I was the one who said, "Radiohead? They were special guests last year, there's no way on Earth they'd do it again so soon," so what do I know?

Think it's a bit of a shame for them to be lining up headliners this far in advance myself, who knows who'll be the Bands To See in 2013? Two years is more than enough time for any one of the bands mentioned to release their "Difficult Third Album" and disappear in a puff of mediocrity, or for someone no one's thought of yet to produce their masterpiece and shoot to the top of everyone's lists! (Don't forget, Coldplay were a bit of a chance booking by Emily who paid off and became as big as they are as a result.)

In my own humble view, far too much emphasis is placed on the headliners, the media choosing to define each year's festival by who the top 3 in a list of 2,000+ is! I still have a place in my heart (where I go when I want a bit of a chuckle) for the guy on the Guardian website who posted last year, "Gutted. Didn't buy tickets cos I hate U2 and now they've cancelled"

Anyhoo, on balance, think I'll probably go in 2013, no matter who headlines!

It's fun trying to work it out though! My own tuppence worth: Would love to see Roger Waters do The Wall on the Pyramid, but a show like that is a huge expense and it'll be two years after the tour by then - think we my have missed that one.

glasto needs an exclusive festival headliner .. U2 was probably this years with coldplay and beyonce playing various other festivals

huge radiohead fan ... but the current material isnt a headlining set, a classics set would rock the place !

love to see the stones or pink floyd ... it really needs that historic mega star to make it exclusive and not just another festival (which i know everything other than the music makes it) but still its the music that people will judge it by!

on a footnote ... i am getting married in april 2013 .. it could be a honeymoon glasto for us

Genuinely not too fussed about who the headliners are... am finding that unknown acts on small stages are more fun, more intimate and more likely to surprise in a good way...

We thinking of getting married in june 2013 just so we have another excuse not to take the kids! They can't expect to come on our honeymoon now can they?? It was supposed to be in sept next year but June 2013 sounds so much better.
