Question A Glasto Virgins Age Old Camping Question!!
Where is the best place to camp for 2 Glasto Virgins? Me and my mate have our hearts set on 'Michaels Mead', but we haven't seen much said about and I've researched my butt off lately. Couldn't get my disabled status fast enough, so a spot that's easy to get to but obviously not prone to flooding and landslides lol would be great.

All help MUCH appreciated guys.

Alli x

Ps. Just one more thing, are the phone charging tents really that bad? I want to bring my Htc Desire to post the odd tweet or FB updated to friends who couldn't make it, just don't want the tent to take up time. What time do they open?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Hopefully this link will work-it is Tort's website which should answer all of your questions. It is definitely worth a look.
Hope you have a great festival-if you are there on Thursday pop over to the Brothers Bar (West Holts) at 2Pm and say hello

Michaels Mead looks really handy for the Pyramid on the map but most of the field is on a very steep slope so if mobility is a problem for you then I'd look elsewhere. If not and you don't mind waking up in a ball at the bottom of your tent each morning then go for it

The queues at the Orange Chill n Charge used to be horrendous but there will be several additional places to charge your phone this year so hopefully that will spread the load. Personally I just take a spare battery.

The queues at the Chill 'n' Charge vary during the day, but even if there's no queue to get in you then have to wait for the right kind of charge point to come free - some are more popular than others. If you have an adapter that has an input for an unpopular phone type and an output for your phone, that can really help (don't ask me which ones are unpopular though!) Then of course you have to wait for your phone to charge!

We have Power Monkey solar chargers. They charge a separate battery pack, but really slowly - I'm talking days! But you can also plug the battery pack into your PC or the mains. It holds enough to charge your phone twice, so we reckon if we charge our battery packs and phones fully before leaving, we'll be sorted.

I believe the info points also offer some sort of charging service, but it's more limited - I'm sure someone will give us more details on this thread shortly!

How did we cope back in the day?

- I'm guessing people back in the day were just happy being there and didn't feel the need to tweet or phone their friends to talk crap lol
