Smile Glasto Highlights?
What are your Glastonbury highlights?

Can be bands/acts/fields/food/moments/whatever.

In other words, what (if anything) made the last time you went to Glasto worth remembering?

All of it

It was my first time so I was very excited and never stopped all weekend, but I particularly loved the Green Fields and the street performers around the theatre and circus fields, they were fabulous I had a couple of therapy sessions in the green fields and they were wonderful, I'll be doing that again for sure.

The street performers just made me smile so much, they were great fun, the ladies serving tea outside their caravan and the guys who made themselves into a human coconut shy and had people throwing socks at them Fabulous

I loved sitting at the stone circle, just listening and seeing and taking it all in, even the guy with the guitar who seemed to be repeating the same line over and over again lol! Some guys were cooking a chicken over a fire while another guy served sangria from a tupperware tub, it was quite bizarre in some ways

The craft field was fabulous, seeing people's creations, which were pretty amazing, discovering an artist called Kate Chidley, who did some amazing paintings of cows and festivals, I bought a few of her pics and have them framed on my wall now The sculptures and creations that were all over the green fields were fabulous, I can't believe that they are only there for a short time every year!

Finally, just the random goings on made me smile, the fun people who were just doing things for the fun of it, it was just so relaxed and friendly.

Oh yeah, and I saw a few bands too

In 2009 a big group of us actually managed to start a mexican cheer from stone circle, it took many attempts and was only cos of the enthusiasm of a few peeps that we kept trying, when the cheer went around the whole site i felt fantastic, i really didnt realise it was one of those things you have to do in life.
1 of our friends celebrated his birthday on the wed and i got lots of people at stone circle (we spent a lot of time there lol) to sing happy birthday to him, it was funny when we got to hapy birthday dear.............. nobody knew his name so it went a bit flat at that point.
There are so many i could go on all day.

-The pink and white marching band by the Circus sign!
-Going to the cinema tent one morning and realising halfway through the film that I was sat in a tent in a field wearing 3D glasses with a couple hundred of others in wellies, and all of us completely MUDDY!
-The chinese lanterns; especially on the Wednesday and Thursday nights as we were sat around the camp fire (although watching a few of them nosedive into the crowd during Blur's set made me a tad worried...).
-I hate to sound like a masochist, but it took us over 7 hours to travel from Gloucester (only down the road!!) on the Wednesday morning and I loved every second of it! I can't remember the last time I was that giddy-excited for anything!
-Watching the campsites fill up day by day from where we'd put our tent on the hill by The Park; seeing so many people arriving there to have the time of their lives was unbelievable! (plus all the twinkly car windscreens!)
-Hearing the aforementioned Mexican Cheers for the first ever time.
-Eating a Vegitarian Fried breakfast, and loving it!
-TOM FREAKIN' JONES!!!

Picture the scene Glasto 2002 or maybe 2003 all the main bands had finished 8 of us very drunk made our way up to Stone Circle and sit next to the big Oak tree watching everyone bringing all the drums and Diggeredoo's to the circle then without a nod or a count Boom Boom Boom etc suddenly one guy with the Diggeredoo starts playing the intro to "There's only one way" by The Levellers and the Drummers all keep the beat and everyone around the circle starts singing the song some one with a guitar joins in. My mate who is Levellers freak suddenly gets up and goes into the middle of the circle and and starts dancing like a man possessed loads of festival goers join him and all of a sudden he see's the guitarist and its is the lead guitarist from the Levellers. Song finishes and away they go into the night. Absolutely amazing 10 minutes.

Drums and bongos etc carry on for the rest of the 4-5 hrs we sit there awaiting the sun rise hardly saying anything to each other just nods and smiles when beer and spice rum is passed around.
The sun finally shows itself and a massive cheers goes up which tumbles its way down through the Greenfields. I turn to my mates 4 of them were Glasto virgins and say "Now thats what Glastonbury is all about". Everyone just nods and grins. We all walk arm in arm back to the tents with massive smiles on our faces. (by the way none of us do weed etc all either in the forces or ex forces) so it was Glasto induced.
Have had many other experiences like that but that was the best

just remembered another incident in 2003.....it started raining and we heard that a childrens charity were giving out ponchos so we sauntered along to the stall filled in the questionair and got said ponchos, whatme put his on back to front and somehow breathed in most of the poncho it went down his throat and i wasnt sure if he was choking of suffocating, when i stopped rolling about laughing i saved him. we finally got the ponchos the right way round but found them really restrictive until some friendly person pointed out that they have holes for your arms. in our defence we were proper trollyed as it was our 1st time away without the kids.
