We're all so quick to advise Newbies "Don't overplan, just go with the flow" but now it's all "OMG! Clashes!" and massive planning. Oh the irony.
I'm mildly disappointed by the absence of Brendon from the cabaret tent.

For me, half the pleasure of the build up is the planning! But as I'm happy to confess, it all gets left far behind when I walk through the gates!!
This time next week my flat will be a chaotic pile of tents, sleeping bags and assorted crap!

Oh I aint planing anything I, like others I guess, have thing I would like to see and will try to get to see them, but when I see that 6 things I want to see happen to be on at about the same time and at different corners of the festival (Friendly fires, Noah and the whale, Special Guests, Zinc, Kid british, Dj Derek if you wanted to know) then yes I will be all "Arghghghghshfsjkdf;dsfvmonfbgiund so many clashes"

Download the Orange/Guardian guide app (either Iphone or Android). It'll be absolutely feck all use once the festival starts as you'll run out of battery but it's quite a nice little app with all the set times on if you're bored on the train or something.

Not if you go to the lovely Orange tent (or the Greenfield bicycle-powered chargers) to get re-charged.
Of course, that app's only for flash phones, the sort that we've all been advised to leave at home in case they get nicked.

There's always going to be clashes, but the beauty of Glasto is that you probably won't make it to either act and spend your time doing something completely different and random thats even more fun. Though City and Colour are overlapping with Beyonce, and its a long walk from Avalon to Pyramid!

Quite lucky for me, as the only clash would have been The Vaccines and Miles Kane on Friday, but The Vaccines also play Sunday on the John Peel so happy days
The other clash (possible) is Hard-Fi (booked at 9pm - Leftfield) and the Chemical Bros (booked 2230 - Other Stage) but the two are not too far apart by which time I'd have seen most of the set (hopefully!)

***Complete Loss of Credibility Alert***
GIST 2011 V1.0 (Glastonbury Interactive Spreadsheet and Timeline) my all singing, all dancing clashfinding spreadsheet is finished!
2,023 rows of it would you believe? Added functionality this year includes a filter for "must-sees" and "like-to-sees". It prints to a mere 29 pages and, much like last year's, is of no use whatsoever! I'll try dropboxing it and seeing if I can read it on my phone, but a trial run earlier this month would indicate that it'll be just as useless...
I so need to get out more... But fortunately, next Tuesday... I CAN!
Don't you just love wasting your time finding new ways to get excited about Glastonbury?
