Im putting aside about 140 quid return from Newcastle. I have a shit car but.
Your talking 350 miles, so 70 quid each way is over the top..I hope. I could be way off tho.

Diesel will be better wont it?

well diesels much more expensive than petrol at the moment plus the campervan av got is a 3 ltr plus about 10 cases of cans and wine etc puts all the difference on the weight for travelling.

What my dad does with this is use this little thing which tells you exactly how much it'll cost you

http://www.parkers.co.uk/advice/Fuel...px?mode=choose

it's really easy you just put in your car/vans mpg and say how far your trip is, all you've gotta do is put it as years not days

Hope this helps

According to the maps, the journey is about 320 miles (640 for a round trip). Average price for diesel at the moment is 139.63p per litre (£6.32 per gallon). For a vw bus then you're getting about 25mpg - 35 mpg? Quick calc = £58 - £80 for the journey down (or £116 to £160 for the round trip).

Don't forget that you have to fill up well away from Glastonbury as Average prices don't apply .

One year I was driving back via Bath and the prices there had shot away up { they were even higher than motorway prices } - i stopped off just to get some air { it must have been a muddy one as I reduced the pressure to be able to drive out } and was chatting to the guy - now I had driven past that garage the week before { the day before the public get in } and did not notice they were that expensive - turns out at Midnight the week before they had jacked up the price so if they were doing it there then its odds on they were doing it far closer to Pilton.

Lucky enough I knew I could get back to London so the price hike did not affect me.

You're probably looking at the lumpy part of £200 I'm afraid. We took our 2.8 litre campervan up to Knockengorroch (Suffolk to Galloway & back) a couple of weeks ago and that was roughly what we went through in diesel. If you want to save yourself a bit don't fill up your water tank until you get fairly close to the site. Cuts down on the weight massively and makes it much easier to drive too.
