Default First Timer!!!
It's my first Glasto and my first ever festival. I'm a bit of a townie so am apprehensive about the thought of camping.

I'm camping with my girlfriend who has been to loads of festivals but not this one.

Can anyone tell me where the best place to camp is for 20 something couple who want a relaxed atmosphere and avoid the mud.

Thanks to all.

have you seen tort's FAQ re camping might help you decide where to pitch up...

http://www.glastoearth.com/Home

Hes been through all the campsites and given a really accurate view of all them.

Me and my massive tend to pitch up in lime kiln, which is on the outskirts, but its nice and chilled and not liable to flood due to its proximity up hill..but I am trying to get the guys to try somewhere new (ie the new bushey ground) but not getting many converts....

Although not everyone's cuppa, as it is by no means the ultimate party area, we always go to Hitchin Hill and love it. Reasons:

1. It is very close (in Glasto terms) to Pedestrian Entrance A (West Car Park). A God send.
2. The views across the site are spectacular - go as far back to the fence as you can.
2. Pitch at the top of the slope and if it rains the water is running away from you.
3. It is secure - people generally cannot be bothered to go there unless they need to, so the likelihood of opportunist theft (as most is) is very low.
4. If you want some sleep, you can get some as it's fairly quiet.
5. Only a short walk to the Pyramid area, and we also enjoy the long walk back from the 'party' end of the site in the wee small hours. You see all sorts!
6. It will not get muddy around the camp regardless of the weather as the ground around the tents is barely trodden on (other than you and your immediate group).
7. There is a far more relaxed attitude to having a big, spacious camp as it is not a first choice for many. It does not get ridiculously busy and you will not wake up to find a tent has been erected virtually on top of your own.

Have a blast!
