McLean's confirmed himself again in an interview in Singapore.

I’m going to be playing at the biggest music festival in the world at Glastonbury, so there’s going to be nothing but crazy kids out there. And there’s a reason why I’m there. Go figure. I don’t know anything about it. I just do what I have to do. But I think that young people are looking for music, real songs, and I think they value artistes who can sing and write and who are still out there. But most are too old to go out there, or too rich and don’t care or it’s too difficult. But I actually like the struggle of going from my comfort zone into a different country and coming back when this is all done – God willing if it all works out – I’m come back saying I did a good thing for a lot of people and I did a good thing for myself.

It's now claimed he'll be playing the Pyramid Stage.

We don't know at present whether Don will be appearing on the Saturday or Sunday of the festival. However he will be starring on the pyramid (main) stage and an audience of around 130,000 is assured plus potentially millions watching live on BBC television.

So, he was either wrong previously about playing Saturday night, or this article is wrong and he'll be playing the Acoustic Tent Saturday night.

Though it's not impossible that he'll play two sets.

I went to see Don McLean the other night and he and his band (and his daughter) were FANTASTIC
and I am so disappointed that having had my TV on all day and still on now at 12.30am, I have NOT
seen Don McLean at Glastonburgh on TV, yet I have seen loads of repeats of others that were on!!

SHAME ON YOU BBC!

Does anyone know if Don McLean will be shown on TV please as I was so looking forward to hearing
130,000 people singing along to American Pie as well as several of his other brilliant songs!!!

I saw Don McLean Online yesterday. Log onto www.bbc.co.uk/festivals there is lots of footage of Glasto and I think you will find him there!

I clicked the link and it says "Error 404 - Page not found" but I'll have a google. I stayed up until almost 2am watching Glastonbury, hoping they'd show some of Don's set instead of so many repeats of Coldplay etc etc and we got just 5 mins of American Pie at about 1.50am!!!!
