Default Camping camping camping...
Hi all, just wanted to get some advice about camping...

I've been to Glasto the last couple of years and have camped in Pennard's (2009) and Dairy Ground (2010). However, my mates and I always enter through gate C, so it's a fair trek to these areas. Was thinking this year about going closer to the gate, i.e Big Ground, but was wondering what everyone's opinion on this is? I do like the Pennard's area for the atmosphere etc.. but was wondering if it's completely different the other side of the festival?

Does anyone have thoughts on this, and can give me an idea as to whether I should just stop having these lazy thoughts and continue walking to the Pennard's/Dairy area as I have done the last 2 years!?

why not enter through a diff entrance ??? like gate D? much closer and
would make life easier haha,
personally i never camped up that way(Pennards) used to camp on Hitchen Hill and now in Cockmill meadow. so couldnt compare them but i can tell you i love it over this side (close enough to everything) and depending on how the new entry system for shangri la is, you could end up bein much closer to home when your done in

Shangri-La entrance will be by gateC, the exit is still the Railway line.

Ive stayed at Big Grounds for the past few years and one of the best things is the flushable bogs at the top of the field they are a god sent by the sunday after walking past the long drops all festival! Its a nice place to camp as well as you can quite easily have a few tents in a circle with enough space to be comfortable, if you go up the hill enough its quite flat and you can hear acts from the pyramid tent in the mornings which is nice The downside to it is that its a trek to get back if your out near shangri la at night (but where isn't)

I don't like change! Changing camping grounds is a big enough deal without changing entry gates too! haha! Actually that's not a bad idea, but gate C is just the nearest for us in relation to the car park we end up in.

Might give Big Ground a try then, but first have to run this past my friends who are also coming!

This time in 3 weeks.....
