campervan passes ?
Hi, I bought 2 adult, 1 child and a campervan spot today.... The thing is whilst browsing the official facebook thing I saw people were saying how difficult it was to get extra campervan passes????? Plus I do remember on the online page something about only getting 2 passes with the campervan, soooo does that mean I should of purchased 2 x campervan spots in order for me ,my son and husband to get in and out of the campervan field? ie The campervan price is only for two peeps ? x

I also booked our campervan pass with paying balance for the four of us this morning ..Never been in the vw bus before as didn't think she would make it..Booked East side hope I've made the right decision After reading the thread about the hill of death... ..Is it really that bad and do they allocate your spot when you arrive or is it the case of home is where you park it...

mee missus has booked it packed it and bought new wellies. However seems to be the earlier you get there the closer to the HILL you are. But the past 2 years we have been asked upon arrival if we require family camping. Seems to be a bit quieter there ;{ but still a great atmosphere watching all walks ofl ife &lifeless people walking past. As for the HILL its not that bad. Bring it on

Whooop! Whooop! SHould be sorting my tickets out monday!
Hill of Death? Bah! It's only called that by the dwellers of nylon nightmares who have to carry their stuff up & down it!
Though to be fair, after a long day trekking around the site you may find it a tad steep & tiring on the ol' legs if you are in good physical fitness! As for West Side :P They just have a longer walk rather than a steep hill to deal with. East Side Massssssssssivvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeee!
They tend to fill the campervan fields using stewards guding you to pitch in neat rows with appropriate space and firelanes. Doesn;t always work though depending on how experienced/tired the stewards are, but you do usually have to park up where directed.
Not sure what time campervan fields open this year, last year we drove in about 2 in the morning on the wednesday, not much traffic and not a huge queue either. What was surprising though was the number of campervans that had already arrived and pitched!

The "Hill of Death" really is nothing to worry about and it's only really a trudge for campers lugging their gear back up it on the Monday morning. Having said that it'll be my first Glasto in the van this year & I've plumped for West mainly because those fields have their own designated gate. We'll also have a camp on Pennards so we should be able to get in nice & early & won't have to queue up with all the riff raff on the Wednesday morning.

Indeed. What you don't see there is what it looks like on the Wednesday morning.
In 2008 we were stewarding there and there was a positively insane number of trolleys, barrows, handcarts and home made wagons of all descriptions falling over, spilling most of their contents and as often as not breaking: many people didn't even bother picking up the stuff (cans of beer or cider, mostly) that fell off - by the end of our shift there were more than a hundred dropped cans - about a third of which had fallen from sufficiently high to have sprung leaks or just plain burst), a couple of dozen individual wheels of assorted sizes, and one poor beggar sitting by what looked like two tea chests tied and taped together waiting for his friends to come back and give him a hand.

It definitely doesn't look as steep as the hill we had to get up last year to get to the myhab area. Anyway, I booked the West Side this year as I would rather stagger on the flat for a bit longer than trek up a hill

West or east... that is the question???
I have a van and plan on bringing it for the first year. We plan on arriving around 3 on the thursday. Any ideas how bad the traffic will be. I guess pretty bad then.
Also I am just converting my van. It will have bed, cooker and sink, is this ok? how much do they check it out?
I chose east campsite, what are the differences as i see people wanna swap?
