Campervan field query?

We are driving down with a caravan on the Tuesday evening, we have an additonal car with some of our party in. I take it that we will be able to park the car in the public carparks then they can access the caravan site to join us?

Also we are using a ford transit van to tow our caravan, is this ok to be considred as car for the allocation into the caravan field?

yes your mates driving the car will have t park elsewhere, then a little

walk to join you.

As for the towing van, not a problem, only problem would be if it was JUST a transit you were bringing and you were planing to sleep in that.

Ok thats great.

We are arriving around midnight on Tuesday night so the next morning when we want to enter site for some brekkie will we have go through the same queue as everyone else who will be camping etc?

Yup, its the same queue for everyone. You also need to go out of the gate every night and join in the queue every morning to get back in.
Its great in the campervan field but its a real ball ache leaving the festival every night. And then having to get back in every morning.

I heard a rumour they might be opening another gate or something to alleviate the queues of last year?

Hmmmm. Better get to the gate early as possible then on the wednesday morning, hopefully we can get in a carvan field thats not too far away to walk onto the site every morning..

we are traveling with our caravan the early hours of wednesday morning, leaving Bridgend about 4:30am. sounds like we are going to arrive at the worst time, but cant be helped! ill pack a picnic and lots of water. And try to remain patient

You might be ok, we left London last year at 6am (camping) and it was a nightmare and didnt arrive until 11am and the queues were huge.

So I hope leaving London on Tuesaday night will make everything less stressful, especially as we are towing a caravan for the first time!

You sure you're not thinking of Gate E which was new last year and is specifically for access from the West Campervan fields? Certainly no sign of any new gates this year on the 2011 map.
