Default Campervan camping
This year (2009) we took a trailer tent and stayed outside in the campervan field, although we enjoyed the extra space it gave us and slightly cleaner/closer toilets we really missed the atmosphere of the site and hated having to get in and out every day. so next year (if we get tickets) we will be going back to the family camping field.
Anybody else tried both and what did you think?

Yes. Had always camped before but this year did a motorhome !

Disadvantages
- less atmosphere
- 15 min hike up the hill to the east campervan field, which was a pain at times, altho the good weather made it relatively easy
- having to show wristbands and ticket and getting a pass out
- coming back in doing the same
- getting searched a few times when I was in a hurry to rejoin friends or get to see a band about to start

Advantages
- quieter - most of the time
- cleaner toilets , altho we did have own toilet and shower in the motorhome !
- close to fresh water
- comfy bed & good nights sleep ready to start again the next day
- somewhere to charge the mobiles
- fridge to keep cold supplies . Still spent a fortune at the cider bars tho
- row after row of classic VW's

Suppose it depends who you are going with and what your crowd want. We are at the older end of the spectrum and were happy to spend a few hours asleep each day, so we're doing the same thing in 2010.

Cheers
