Hi all yeah I guess I should probably look into that.. I dont have anything against Manchester but Im traveling with a friend (who didnt get a tix) & we're staying with a friend of a friend who lives in London
We arrive only a few days before Glastonbury (IM SOO EXCITED!!) and not knowing my way around ect was abit daunted by travelling around by myself, with all my camping stuff! I was born without a sense of direction, am always getting myself lost & can be relied apon to be late
But, I am really looking forward to having a with you all on thursday!! Also hav joined a facebook group glastowatch/chat solo, everyones great so if anyones keen check it out
Well if your all catered for on the 'Digs' side of things (no cost i presume) then hell yeah stay in london and take a chance with ya ticket lol
i think Glastonbury is the only place im never late for but who cares
Hope you do go to the meet up on thurs and dont chicken out like i have b4 last year i missed it because i took my kids and kids field didnt open till the friday
(is this every year stinkywitch??)
This year i WILL be there, without a shadow of a doubt
And the Glastoteaparty
Hope you do go to the meet up on thurs and dont chicken out like i have b4 last year i missed it because i took my kids and kids field didnt open till the friday
(is this every year stinkywitch??)
See you next month !
It used to open from fri to sun but it has changed now and its open 12-7pm on thursday and 9am-7pm on fri sat and sun.
Think its because of the extra amount of people that come on wed/thur now. It used to be so quiet on these days lol
I am trying to "acquire" some old name badges from my colleagues. I will get a list of names of people attending and I will quite happily make them pretty with our forum names. Might be easier to spot us then

I did wonder how some/most of us who have never met would spot each other-the name badge idea sounds like a good one

Its in West Holts (formally Jazz World) Where the big Brothers cider bar is and lots of flags, 2pm thursday. There will be at least 2 men in dresses there...Whatme and our responsible adult. We are going to the Tea party in the morning and the dress code is a dress!
Im also going on my own. In Australia now but will hit the uk in 3 weeks, will be good to meet up with you all and let the madness commence. On the 12pm bus from heathrow on wednesday
Hey, my partner and I got tickets in the 2nd round but only for the coach option so have the early start at 6am in Nottingham for the trip down. Just wondering if anyone else from Notts is going? We're a couple of aussies living and working in the Newark area and looking to meet up with other people for the massive event! We have never been to Glasto before and, lets face it, Australia has nothing compared to the music festivals over here!
Not sure if I'll make it to the meet.. =/ I'm going with 3 friends who don't use this site, and I'm pretty certain they'd not only say no to coming with me, but if I did convince one of them, it'd just be awkward xD
Plus I'm a useless anxious wreck, I've met two people from the internet before and that was scary enough LOL let alone meeting a massive group!

i know what you mean, i have been to meet that can only be decribed like this:
Loooong time reader, first time poster. From Australia, but living in London.
Second time to Glastonbury (last year was the first), but this will be my first time solo.
I'm actually looking forward to flying solo during the day, should be enjoyable in a different way, as you spend so much time in a group at a festival just, well, herding cats. Looking forward to the freedom of just buzzing around wherever/whenever from stage to stage during the day without always having to coordinate and wait and blah blah blah. But night time is a different story! When getting ones self in trouble, it is always best for one to have partners in crime.
I'm looking forward to meeting up - this will be my 3rd Glasto, first post on the forum!
Spent the year since last October cheering myself up with this forum as I missed out on tickets but managed to get some in the April resale so back on Cloud 9!!

Hi folks, Myself and two of my friends are making the long drive from Belfast to Glasto this year. Did it before in 2009, and the sat nav kindly decided to take us around every small back road that Wales had to offer, though the scenery was brilliant. It'd be great to meet up with a few people that know the ins and outs of Glasto, or anyone thats up for having a great festival. It'll be my second time, but the other two guys havent been before. I'd like to say I seen most of the festival in 2009, but the sheer size of the place blew me away and I know theres lots of other stuff I've yet to see. Roll on Glasto 2011.
great destination your leaving from there ... from north belfast mesel ... squad of us heading over from around the country .. me and the missus are driving
we'll be there on the thursday meet up .. maybe see ya there !
Don't worry about it, if you stick around, you'll get to know a few people on here before June.
This is from our group meet last year.
I must have been having a good time, I don't even remember posing for a photo!
We'll meeting up again this year 2pm Thurs. There's a clue to the location in the above photo
