Buddy up at Glasto 11
Hey all
I've got myself a ticket to Glasto 2011 but unforunately my mates can't afford their tickets so have now cancelled them but that's not stopping me !
I went last year and loved it but now this year I'm going to be on my lonesome ... anyone up for buddying (if that's even a word) up? I live in London, it'd also be good getting to know peeps before the actual fest.
Anyone?
Hayley x

Don't worry about it, if you stick around, you'll get to know a few people on here before June.
This is from our group meet last year.
I must have been having a good time, I don't even remember posing for a photo!
We'll meeting up again this year 2pm Thurs. There's a clue to the location in the above photo

Hi folks, Myself and two of my friends are making the long drive from Belfast to Glasto this year. Did it before in 2009, and the sat nav kindly decided to take us around every small back road that Wales had to offer, though the scenery was brilliant. It'd be great to meet up with a few people that know the ins and outs of Glasto, or anyone thats up for having a great festival. It'll be my second time, but the other two guys havent been before. I'd like to say I seen most of the festival in 2009, but the sheer size of the place blew me away and I know theres lots of other stuff I've yet to see. Roll on Glasto 2011.

There must be dozens of variations on festival packing lists floating around on the net: I used to sort and merge the new ones I saw into a list that, frankly, got sillier and sillier. And even though I'd cross the obviously silly stuff off the list, I'd end up carrying more and more "just in case"....
One thing that helps is going to a smaller festival earlier in the year - or even just an overnighter with your tent - and keep two lists: things needed that you didn't have, and things that you had and never needed.
But to be honest, there's very little (legal) that you won't be able to get on-site: in theory you could turn up with your ticket and Sufficient Cash (which is where it breaks down, of course: everything is available, but probably at a slight mark-up).
Oh, and there's this thread from last year:

Hey everyone!
Im coming down on my own from Australia, and turns out none of my English friends ended up getting tickets (I was lucky enough!)
So not only am I in a foreign country (i mean, not that foreign) but I am by myself! I am camping in Myhab and even have a spot in my tent (2 person tent, just me)
If anyone wants to send me an email or add me on facebook to chat let me know! dsaraceni88@gmail.com or search that email in facebook. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Well, if we can work out where on earth that picture was taken , Lou and I may well pop along and say hi!
(Now then, are there any visual clues that may assist me in locating it... )

Hi all I am new to the forum. I am too going on my own. I have been 2 times before and last year was HOT HOT HOT. I am a green traveller via the Cardiff bus. so travelling light. Like to meat people to camp near for safety and see some bands together. I think I am quite laid back and easy to get on with. Work as a bar manager so used to chatting to anyone. Anyone ells on the Cardiff bus?

Hi peoples, totally new to Glasto. Was supposed to go last year, had ticket but sad story. Doing it on my own this year so a bit nervous tbh. Live in Chesterfield and coming by coach from Nottingham on the Wed. Hope to meet you all and be in the photo.

are you arriving in Manchester from Australia or in London?? sorry im confused lol, did u buy coach ticket separate?
gotta be about 200+ miles between the 2!
so if you are staying in london before and after the festival its a lot closer and would be easier im sure to head to the fest from that end?
would be a pain in the arse to come to manchester from london to go back glastonbury then do it all again when u goin back after the festival??
Hmmm i think you may need to look into your travel plans there?
Hope all goes well for you and you have an amazing time yay!
and dont forget to come to the #twisto meet up on the thursday, if you havent already you'll get to meet loads of like minded folk

Hi.. I know its a ridiculous roundabout way, but we are travelling from Australia to London & we were part of the mad grab for tickets in the resale & all I could get was a ticket with coach transport (which I didnt want anyway) leaving from Manchester
BUT least I got one!!!!!!

Yay ! all bout That Golden ticket pal
Why not stay in Manchester? if u was paying for accommodation in london and travel to manchester anyway..see some of the sights while your here
Seetickets say "its at your risk" to pick tickets up from office! its a bloody long way to travel and have "a risk" at the end
What ever way you decide on i hope you have a fantastic time
