Buddy Up/Camping Buddy
Hey, I'm Jason. I'm 16 years old and from Birmingham. I know there's already loads of these threads but i was wondering if anyone around my age is going alone and is in need of travel from Birmingham? I'm getting the 7:30 coach from Digbeth Coach Station on Wednesday morning and due to my friend pulling out i have a spare seat, which i can give away for free if i need to It includes the return to
If not, if anyone else around my age or just any teenagers are travelling from anywhere else and want's to buddy up or have a camping buddy then just email me on here or at jayhyperchondriac@yahoo.co.uk or we could talk on Facebook or something Thanks
Jason x

Alright lad im probably the resident youngen on here but i dunno what I can do for you. Theres a group of 9 of us going down on the tuesday night from Manchester 5 more than usual so it might be a bit of a bitch you finding us and finding a space near where were camping. Its usually me and 3 others and these 3 were very reluctant to let anymore people come camp with us and these are people we've known for years but i'll give it a try and see what there saying. Were all 16 or 17 and after a few beers were very nice and accommodating to new people If my mates are fine with you staying with us you'll have to be up for a fair bit of banter, far to much drinking, alot of laughing gas and a fair amount of the herbal cigs
If you end up going on your own you'll be fine on your own as especially as your a youngen everyone you see will be well up for talking to you and just chilling with you, i've spent some of the best days at festivals just ambling about by my self taking it all in and seeing all the random shit there is to see
Also why the hell would your mate not wanna go?!?!?!?

There's a group of us camping, youngs and olds, probably near John Peel. Come join us if you haven't found anyone to camp with. (The youngs are 17/19/20 and the olds behave worse than they do!!)

Hey thank you both for your replies and offers! My parents found out the other day my friend couldn't go and there not letting me go on my own I am doing absolutely everything i can to try convince them to let me go it would mean so much to me to go! if i don't i will be so upset! I have literally tried every compromise i can think of and they still won't even think about letting me go

Last year I took my 16 yr old daughter and her firend. It was my first festival and I was nervous about her being there even with me on site. However, I would have no hesitation in letting her go alone having seen how safe it was. It has a wonderful atmosphere and completely non threatening. There are so many good people around, all ready to help or find new friends. Let her read my post, it might help!

First time I went I was 17 and (no one ever believes me, but it's true) it was a school trip! One of our teachers knew Michael Eavis and after exams we all piled down there for the weekend! (6 hours' gate duty got us in for free or one hour got us in for the grand sum of... £1.)
Been going pretty much ever since and it is the friendliest, most inclusive and safest festival I've been to. If you do get to come, we'll all be at the meet on Thursday at 2 in West Holts and you'll be more than welcome! Good luck!
Oh, and if it helps, now I'm at the ripe old age of 47 my mother still worries about me going!

Totally agree with SaraO (above) .
It was our first Glasto last year and we didn't bring our 16 year olds - BUT told both of them when we came home if they wanted to go this year I would not mind one bit! It felt safe and it's so friendly - and tell your mum there isn't much crime at Glasto.
I hope your mum comes around and lets you go!

Thanks for your replies again! My parents finally came round! After much persuasion and telling them what you guys had said, they've finally said it's ok for me to go! I'm so so so so happy! Thank you all so much! My friend definitely can't go so i will be going on my own, but if I'm not already lost by Thursday I'll try make it to the meet up Thank you for the invite! Thank you all so much again!
