I'm hoping for Pearl Jam but it's unlikely. I reckon Bono's back broke after the strain of carrying that huge ego around for years

Pearl Jam would be ideal cover. The only band on the planet who would would actually make me happy.
Gutting like cos regardless what is said about U2...they were and still are massive band on a global scale...with some incredible songs.

We're not getting the Stones, Bowie, Pink Floyd, led zeppelin, The Who or any other great that we'd all like to see so I say take a different angle on it.
We have a massive 80's revival going on at the min so why not get someone Duran Duran on and get Gene Hunt to introduce them?
Failing that I'd like to see Paul Weller.

Can your friend knock on his door and ask him if he's free to play that night

Rumour is that Dizzie will move up to top. For me he's no Pryamid headliner just yet..
Maybe move The Flaming Lips over to headline and have Dizzie headline The Other Stage or swap nights and have the Pet Shop Boys headline and Dizzie still on The Other Stage as headliner.
I think the only sure thing is that if U2 pull out whoever replaces them will not be a big. I wont moan though - Bono sounds like he's pretty ill so close to the event finding a replacement might be tough.
I wonder if Coldplay or Radiohead will step in......

None of you are aiming high enough. BBC6Music are though.
Would Led Zeppelin consider replacing U2 at Glastonbury if Bono's back doesn't recover? Jimmy Page on 6 Music: "I never rule anything out."

Were they playing Pride just before Bono fell?
I'm surprised that the rest of the band didn't say to Bono,"We still want to play Glastonbury and we will, With or Without You"
(Sorry, Stinkywitch started it with that one about getting too close to the edge).
Oh well, never a big U2 fan but felt I should see them at Glasto if I got the chance. Still a tough choice left on Friday night, Fat Boy Slim, Groove Armada or The Orb? Or New Model Army? Or Flaming Lips?
