Default Blues & Jazz Stage
I've found this on the new Blues & Jazz Stage. When I first spotted it in line-up confirmations, I assumed they'd made a mistake and really meant JazzWorld, but it's a whole new stage.

Quote:
I have finally got the go-ahead to book the first ever dedicated Blues & Jazz stage at The Glastonbury Festival, to make this stage work and expand for future festivals we need the support of the musicians and agents for this year's festival.
Here are the stage times....we will be alternating blues & jazz throughout the stage time period.
Wednesday 23rd June 6pm - midnight
Thursday 24th - Sunday 27th 12 am - 12 midnight
This is a Glastonbury 'trial' stage and they have given us almost no budget as a tester for the future, the music will be split 50 /50 with Blues & Jazz.
The stage will be billed as an official festival stage and the acts and schedule will run in all publicity and the official programme. The marquee is 600 capacity and has full size stage, PA & lights, I am in talks with the BBC for an OB facility with an eye to a special Paul Jones show and BBC TV coverage.
I can only offer travel money, passes and backstage camping for the weekend, we will have a drum kit and back line amps for your use.
We would also love the acts to play more than one set, depending on availability, we will be encouraging 'on stage' jamming and as much fun as we can fit in over the weekend.
Let me know your thoughts.....

all the best Barry

Sounds great! Will this (or the jazz half, anyway) fill the kind of niche the old Jazz Lounge did?

You can say that again. I've been a big fan of his since Everything I Need first came out - it's still one of my all time favourite albums - and it should be a hell of a bonus to the Glastonbury experience. Didn't find out until after I'd got my ticket (in the final batch) so that's the icing on the cake.

I've seen it written that's he's going to be playing on 'the 24th/25th June' so maybe he's appearing on the Friday too?

Seems to be in the same place the old Jazz Lounge was....

(You'll have seen that, of course - I'm just answering here in case someone else does what I did and looks in the wrong place)
