There was a rumour at our steward training session that the Dance Village will have the BBC Introducing stage in it this year. We never know for sure what or even how many venues we will be working in until we get there so it is far from definite but a good rumour nevertheless.
Could be just new dance acts I suppose but it seems unlikely that the BBC would have two Introducing stages. We had the salsa tent a couple of years ago which didn't really fit in with the rest of the dance village so the organisers are capable of surprising us!
Plans are afoot to move the BBC Introducing Stage from The Park area of Glastonbury Festival, to the Dance Village.
The BBC stage which gives unsigned talent the opportunity to perform after winning regional competitions, has been situated in The Park since the area was first launched in 2007.
But organisers are saying that the laid-back chilled vibe of The Park isn't the best area to attract the kind of crowds the BBC expect to see at their venue, with audiences at a minimum for even high profile DJ sets.
The stage looks set to be moved to the Dance Village, where it is thought it will automatically attract a larger audience and give the venue a better presence.
Meanwhile, what will replace the BBC Introducing Stage in The Park has not yet been confirmed.
