There's that bloody phrase again "Hope you're excited as we are."

No, we're not. Thank god we've cancelled is all I can say. No "40th Birthday" there that I can see. The line up is dire, last year was much better. System 7 playing at 4.00pm, that'll do great things for the light show. No Rolf! Norah Jones on the Pyramid, yet Al Stewart and Richard Thompson tucked away in the Acoustic Tent? I can help thinking that those of us who helped kick it all off in '79 are no longer required, but I suppose the 20 somethings who impress themselves by drinking Babycham by the pint will happy. Looks like Glastonbury has pitched in with V/Reading/Leeds in just catering for the youngsters.

Don't worry, you won't be missed. I'm hope your tickets find their way into the hands of someone who is 21 years old, has centre court tickets for Wimbledon and who spends their entire festival parked front and centre in front of the Pyramid with a jug of Pimms and a punnet of strawberries.

Thanks for helping to "kick it all off". We're all grateful for your contribution and ability to enjoy your legacy. Perhaps that will give you some comfort when you see us all pretending to enjoy ourselves on the TV coverage. We'll have to put a brave face on it somehow.

And to put Mart44 into perspective...

Stef, 20 - part of the "reading/Leeds crowd of apparent imbeciles". Most looking forward to:

Stevie Wonder
The Beat (for the 5th or 6th time!)
very tempted by New Model Army
Toots

but yes, i will be front and centre of Florence, Muse and all of these rubbish young people bands.

I'm dead happy.

Default Need a few more acts
I wreckon the friday is strong, Saturday poor and sunday good.
Was it just me who was expecting some established bands to be announced today like kasabian, killers, king of leon, razorlite etc.
Even some extra dance acts like Calvin, Pendulum etc.
I hate to say but even some extra pop acts may have helped.

I just think its lacking a little bit of strength for the middle line up.

I'm still gona have loads of fun tho. Bring on June

Hey Mart, you're famous, you're in the Independent!

However, negative comments on the Glastowatch website were outnumbered three to one by positive feedback, including one posting from "Mart, aged 53": "Over the moon. Not stuck in the past. As a glastovirgin (at age 37, as that seems of relevance to this thread), I'm hugely excited at the prospect of my first time and have spent the weekend downloading some fantastic music from bands I've only just come across. Yes, the line-up does seem a tad light in terms of some 'established' acts - and I would love to see Rolf - but surely it's a great way to find your next and new favourite band?! Current faves from this weekend's new listening are Hot Chip, with Grizzly Bear and Jamie T coming in strong

Jon

Does anyone know what's happening with the line-up for the G Stage? Apparently it's been replaced by something called "Cube Henge" - "a huge immersive light structure, about 40m diameter made from large cubes each with a DMX controlled colour changing led in... Incredible... And there is a stage at one side of it. New stage... Outdoors, replacing the G stage in the Dance Village"... wah???

I don't know the full details, but apparently there will be a new Wow Stage and the BBC Introducing Stage will be relocating to there.
